(p.s.) the original controls for that game are shit.
I don't remember. I always remap as soon as I start a game up :^)

The Baldurs Gate series.

BG1
BGTOSC
BG2
BGTOB

They have completley ruined all future computer RPG's for me as nothing holds a candle to them imho.

My all-time fave is Chrono Trigger

It had absolutely the best of everything

Replayability
Visuals
Music
Story
you name it
"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

Best RPG I ever played, though the best moment of any was the end of Disk 1 of FFVII. I was in shock and refused to play the thing for days. You shouldn't get that attached to a bunch of pixels.

Favourite of all time?

Crap. I probably played more Tribes 2 and MOO2 than any other game, but the all time winner for me has been SOLDAT, because it's free and I have been able to play it on any crap system or any crap connection.

Nonetheless, my favourite game to actually play was Duke Nukem 3D, first time out.
Note: I'm semi-retired from the board, so if you need something, please be patient.

Playing Duke 3d for the first time was uber rad. It was like.... woah, its a 3d shooter with cussing in it.... woah, that chick is dancing topless

Mine would have to be, well, pretty much everything I've played, but here are a few of my favorites:

The whole C&C series, excluding Generals (computer can't play it, so I dunno what it's like yet :| )
Half-Life, and all it's storebought mods (Counter-Strike, TFC, Blue Shift, Opforce, etc.), plus Firearms and NS
Halo (great X-box FPS, I didn't think they could pull it off, but they did, and very well at that)
Starcraft and its addon (Brood War), although I didn't like the damn lurkers online against people who knew how to use them :)
Quake 3, Unreal 2003, Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike, and Counter-Strike, to name a few fun FPS (Richochet is kinda nice too - comes with newest update of HL)

Those are current favorites, but here are some honorable mentions from the past:
Arcade - Pacman (munch munch munch!)
N64 - Conker's Bad Fur Day ("I am the great and mighty Poo, I'm gonna throw my shit on you.....")
Nintendo - Mario Golf (I never quite figured out how golf works with a 2 button controller)
N64 - Star Wars: Rouge Squadron - Pretty fun, and good graphics (in fact, I'm gonna go play that right now, cya)
<< SEGNOR: Grand Admiral of the Gnomish Hordes >< GALE: Equal Opportunity Lover >< SDNet Keeper of the Lore >< Great Dolphin Conspiracy >>
My Audioscrobbler

Cult of Vin Diesel - When you mix Vin Diesel with a strong acid you get salt water.

Hmm... Favorite PC game would have to be X-Com: UFO Defense. Favorite console game is definitely Chrono Trigger.

Too...many...can't...choose...

...but the list definitely includes

XCom:UFO Defense
Pirates (the only thing I ever used my High School atlas for)
Gunship
SSI's Goldbox games
Bard's Tale series
BG series & IWD 1
Monkey Island
Vermeer
Millenium 2.2 & Deuteros
Maniac Mansion 1&2
MOO 2
Harpoon

...and an 'honorable mention' to Might & Magic II, the game that taught me that a mixed-gender party is not only fun but vital!

non-computer

Risk
Clue
Monopoly ('Wir haben noch 16 Geld')
D&D
Triomino (basically dominoes with triangular tiles)
Scrabble (note to fellow players:'Xylophonilluminator' is usually NOT accepted to be a real word)

Both lists are not complete, naturally.
'Next time I let Superman take charge, just hit me. Real hard.'
'You're a princess from a society of immortal warriors. I'm a rich kid with issues. Lots of issues.'
'No. No dating for the Batman. It might cut into your brooding time.'
'Tactically we have multiple objectives. So we need to split into teams.'-'Dibs on the Amazon!'
'Hey, we both have a Martian's phone number on our speed dial. I think I deserve the benefit of the doubt.'
'You know, for a guy with like 50 different kinds of vision, you sure are blind.'
