Tell that to my mum. Tell that to me. Tell that to my sister or my brother. Any one of us will be more than happy to beat some sense into anyone who holds such bigoted feelings. I've had my share of dealings with such people, and since you can't see any signs of my mixed interracial background unless you looked really closely, they always assume I'm purely white and treat me as such. I usually let them run their mouths for a while and talk me up a bit before letting them know that I have Chinese blood in me, which puts them at a nice loss of words. Seeing that they've just been praising my goodness while condemning interracial people and relationships, well, let's just say they got a whole lot of explaining to do and not enough brains to do it.

If I had one parent from one cultural heritage and one from the other then I would have a double heritage not "no identity".

The only issue with identity comes from other people, particularly those assholes who walk up and ask "so, what do we call you?" and such crap.

As a dorky looking asian guy in an inter-racial relationship, I get a lot of nasty comments and dirty looks thrown my way, and it's come down to violence on a few occasions. Even worse I've taken abuse from both asian and white people. They just can't accept the fact that we're both good ordinary people who love each other and just happen to have different skin colours. That and I sense a lot of jealousy and hatred from the guys who are pissed that my GF is more attractive than anyone they're ever likely to date.

Having been in several interracial relationships I can say that by far the one that drew the most fire was when I spent a year dating a black woman. It was HEINOUS. We would be walking along minding our own business and the stares we would get. As I understood it she got it far worse than I did. Women both white and black would stare at her with such hatred and anger. (I didn't get the white woman thing) The black guys would stare but mostly at her not at me and there were even times that comments were exchanged.

Mind you this is NYC the liberal bastion of the North east, I can imagine the shit that couples get down south. UGH. Unfortunately the stress of this plus the crap we both got at home helped aid the eventual break up. But she will always be fondly remembered as the best lover I ever had. GOD just thinking about her still curls my toes.

There was a time that I would be considered bi-racial. I'm half Slavic (Slovene and Ukrainian) and I'm also partly Irish (as in "Irish need not apply"). Heck, I might be considered somewhat treacherous too since I also have French ancestry. Anyway, am I opposed to bi-racial relationships? No. My old boss who I am good friends with has a black wife. I have absolutely no problem with it. Heck, I'm attracted to Asian women just as much as white women even though I know my chances of getting a wife of either variety are basically nil.

Personally, black women don't really turn me on, so as far as I'm concerned it's just a matter of taste. However, I don't really mind seeing a white guy/girl with a black girl/guy. As long as they're happy, I don't care.

My sister's ex was mixed race, and our grandmother would worry about how they opwuld bring u;p their kids, but she just pointed out that Ash already had experience with being in a mixed race family.

My major pregancy scare was with a black man, and as I would have been a single white mother, I was terrified about how to deal with it.

From what I've heard from the academic hard left, this makes perfect sense. There's nothing more important to them than what group you belong to. I'll leave you all to decide what that says about hard left ideology.
