I'm scared as shit of needles, but I've donated twice and have no intention of stopping. It really doesn't hurt or anything, its just an irrational fear of mine.

By the way, my PR is four minutes, although I about fell down when I stood up the first time.

I have not been able to give blood since i became an adult, as you're not allowed to one year after:

a)having anything pierced

b)getting a tattoo

And I've done that about once a year since turning 18.

I'm not allowed to because of my tattoos. Nor can I donate plasma because of it.

Though its stupid. I can be fine when needles are perhaps about an inch. But sometimes those doctors pull out those DAMN LONG TWO INCH ones i become scared SHITless.

Anyway, I've never given blood before and I probably never will except for those damn hospital check-ups. *don't know blood type either*

True, but even so... You can't give blood or plasma until a year after you've had your tats.

I give every time I become eligible(every 3 months). I have O negative so they really like me, plus I tested negative for a virus that 85% to 90% of the population has, which means they can split my blood up into smaller portions to give to premature babies. Needless to say the Red Cross bugs me if I don't show up on a regular basis.

I'll say it a third time. *Shiver* I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE needles, be it for shots or something like acupuncture, I can't stand it. Last year for Health class we had to watch acupuncture, I was shivering and rubbing my forearms the whole time, not to mention that my friends were making fun of me through the whole thing.

Six times total for me. I'll be donating again as soon as I'm elegible (another month; revaccination for certain diseases apparently screws with their blood test results). It takes an unusually long time for me to finsih a donation -- usually about twenty minutes each time -- so those who are posting 4-5 minute times are pretty lucky.

Needles stopped bothering me after I had to recieve shots twice every week for a year. Allergy treatment sucks (I still have to get shots every month to maintain it).

I've never given blood before but I will when the van comes around to uni again. How big's the needle they use? I don't mind needles but if they pull some big ass 6 inch one they won't see me for dust...

That sounds eeirly like my first blood test. It's almost exactly what happened.

I haven't given blood, and I might never be able to, due to some genetic disease or another that might be present in my bloodstream (my sister found this out when she went to give blood). I don't even know what my blood type is yet.

I don't like needles at all, but I do put up with them when I need to. If I could give blood, I would, despite the needles. Unfortunately, I can't. :(

Gave blood twice, I think I'm O positive. I'd do it more, but often times I'm either sick or I forget. I usually can fill the bag pretty fast, although I don't know the time for it.

Usually I feel alot healthier after doing so, interestingly enough. The only thing I really notice is that it drops my stamina a little bit, something that I won't notice unless if I moderately excercise.

Needles don't bother me much at all. Don't go out of my way to stick them into me but they're not that big a deal. (Most notable example is when I stepped on a long rusted sewing pin and it entered vertically in my heel. I simply pulled it out and continued walking.)

I give regularly. They've got regular blood drives here on campus so I donate then.

I don't weigh enough, and I'm too young. Still, if I could I probably would. I'm not a huge fan of being prodded with needles, but I've had worse, and if it can save a life, why not.

I used to donate when I was in high school. However, after one horror story I kind of wondered. One guy was getting his blood taken. Right. Okay, it was taking a long time, and he said it hurt like hell. He asked the nurse and somehow they hadn't plugged the needle into a vain, but instead into his muscle or some shit. eek.

I've given blood 3 times over the last year (I'd only just been old enough to do it.)

My blood type is AB+, they still refuse to pay me for it.

I will when I come of age.

Besides, they have those blood drives at my school, and after they suck some of your blood away, you get donuts and cookies, etc... :D
