I'm waiting for the time PETA tell us to remove our white cells as it's cruel to kill infectious organisms if our bodies deal with them.

Got to love how they treat the 1.5 million chicken deaths an equal tragedy to 20 million human deaths.

Today’s sophisticated "super" computers can actually predict the effect of substances on all the organs of the human body.
WRONG a computer only does what it's programmed to do. To make an accurate computer model we'd need to know absoloutely everything about the human body.
Hasn’t every major medical advance been attributable to experiments on animals?

Medical historians have shown that improved nutrition, sanitation, and other behavioral and environmental factors—not anything learned from animal experiments—are resp
Distortion. There is a difference between medicine and sanitation. Roman drains have been known to operate even today wheras modern drains require repairs every decade or two. (York has some stretches that still work) Doesn't mean their medicine was better than ours.
But keeping animals isolated in barren steel cages, removed from all that is natural to them, is harmful to animals’ mental and physical health.
Wouldn't they need to be sentient to suffer emotional damage. Adjusting to their enviroment is not a metal disorder.
Would you approve an experiment that would sacrifice 10 animals to save 10,000 people?

Suppose the only way to save those 10,000 people was to experiment on one mentally challenged orphan. If saving people is the goal, wouldn’t that be worth it? Most people will agree that it is wrong to sacrifice one human for the "greater good" of others because it would violate that individual’s rights. There is no logical reason to deny animals the same rights that protect individual humans from being sacrificed for the common good.
Distateful though it would be, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, yes, I would approve. Yes there is a logical reason to deny animals equal rights, they are not sentient. Simple answer.

EDIT: Why the fuck does it need to be a 'mentally challenged' orphan? this would be an appeal to sympathy would it?

Mr. Kitty eats meat. So does Mr. Puppy. Don't abuse your pets by making them eat something they aren't supposed to.
Stupid, dirty whore. :D
Though, ironically, the principle ingredient in most dry dog and cat food happens to be corn meal and oat hulls, along with animal products unfit for human consumption. Mind you, dry pet food sucks ass in terms of digestibility and nutritional content. Except that vegi-nazis choose to ignore that part. Dogs are a little better suited to an omnivorous diet, but even omnivorous humans don't thrive very well on a purely vegan diet. For both, animal proteins are much, much better suited to their digestion than plant proteins. And animal products contain a number of vitamins that no plant has.

And the problem is much worse for cats, who are obligate carnivores. They can't process any nutrients from plants. They have to get all their sustenance from animal protein and fats. Put a dog on a vegetarian diet, and it'll live. Mind you, it'll be more listless then it's human. Put a cat on a vegetarian diet, and some time later you end up with a cat dead of starvation.

You know, I had a talk the other day with a relatively level-headed PETAite. I was planning on flaming her, but she actually turned out to be pretty cool.

I asked her why PETA tries to defy the set of logical assumptions that naturally follow the fact that humans have canine teeth. She told me, very bluntly, that every member of PETA had a different outlook on what is right and wrong, but that according to her it was relatively cut-and-dry. PETA stands for People for the ETHICAL (not unnatural) Treatment of Animals. That means that sure, people were made to eat meat. But they were also equipped to hunt, trap, kill and cure that meat. So if you go out and shoot a deer and have venicine for a week, that's cool. But if you're pumping animals full of steroids and grain so they can be sent off to the slaughterhouse to die without the opportunity of letting their own natural instincts kick in, that's just wrong (according to her). She says, kill all the animals you want, but do it humanely and do it the way nature intended for you to do it. Get a rifle with a nice scope, a bright orange hat, and a pocket full of ammo, and go deer hunting. But no animal should ever be raised in a manner where its only possible future is death by slaughterhouse.

::Shrugs:: As much as I like hamburgers, it made sense to me. And she wasn't an asshole about it, either. I liked her so much, I shut off the tape recorder. Hell, I even shook her hand.

You know, I am surprised how many squeamish little women who actually eat meat will freak when you have fun carving a chicken in front of them. <Shakes head>. Just so much fun at the expense of someone's unrealistic world view.

Rebecca doesn't like to eat anything with a recognizable body. She has no problem with burgers, chicken nuggets, steak, etc. But if it looks like a whole animal (like fish prepared Chinese-style, with the head laying there staring at you, or shrimp), she gets queasy. It took me YEARS to get her past the shrimp phobia.

Ok, maybe it's just me, but I think if you're going to call a group of people stupid, whether they are or not, you should be careful to not sound stupid yourself when writing about them. If the title of this thread had been grammatically correct, it would have read "REALLY stupid people found here."

Sorry, pet peeve of mine.

Ah, but we're talking about REAL stupid people as opposed to FAKE stupid people, or people who are stupid but we haven't confirmed as stupid yet, like suspected stupid people. These people of which we speak are real and stupid, thus, "real stupid people". Ha! Ummm...nevermind.... :P

Hopefully, with enough complaints filed with the FBI, stressing the influence it may have on cases of actual cruelty, the PETA and AskCarla websites will be removed permanently

I might be biased on this, but putting my pets on a vegan diet sure sounds like animal cuelty to me.
