Favorite Rollercoaster

Post by Kelly Antilles »

Okay, we have favorite carnival ride, what about your favorite rolercoaster?

Since I've not been to Cedar Point, I can't claim any of those awesome 'coasters. But, out of all I've ever ridden, Alpengeist at Bush Gardens: Williamsburg is my favorite.

THE TOWER OF TERROR!!!!!

The best ride ever, in Disney World somewhere--I went a few years ago with my best friend, and she didn't like it all that much, but I loved it so much I went on it three times in a row. AWESOME!!!!!! Thirteen stories, straight down (after they do a couple teasers of a 4-story drop here, a 7-story drop there), and only a little lap bar about an inch thick, and windows that overlook the park with NO GLASS IN THEM! So, they sit you at the top of the tower, let you look out over the rest of that area of the park, you can point, "Hey, look at that ride over there!" whilst sticking your pointing hand out through the window, and then have it promptly chopped off as the makeshift freight elevator you're in falls a few stories down. Thankfully, no one was stupid enough to do such a thing (at least the times I went on the ride)....

Ahhhh, what a great ride. *sighs wistfully*

Tower of Terror was pretty cool, but I liked...NO I forgot the name of the ride...

It was indoors, you could see it from the Tower of Terror, involved a band...CRAP. I can't remember what it was called, can anyone remember?

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Aerosmith's Rockin' Rollercoaster? Where they play "Love in a Rollercoaster?" at the end of the ride? (You know, instead of "Love in an Elevator" :D )

If that's the one you mean, yeah, that one was pretty cool. But NOTHING beats the Tower of Terror. At least, for me.

theres this one at Universal Islands of Adventure...its suppossed to be like a battle of two dragons...Fire and Ice. it's one of those hanging rollercoasters where you feet are just flailing around. its two rollercoasters that intertwine with each other and come close together and stuff. its pretty cool. that and the Hulkcoaster....it shoots you out from the top. you go from a slow crawl to like 60mph or something. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

Top Gun, Canada's Wonderland. Great 'coaster.

Also The Bat, same place, you go forwards and backwards.

The Great Canadian Mind Bender(?) is really good too, wooden, so its really hairbrained with sharp angles.

One of my friends parents have FORBIDDEN him from being in the same car that she drives.

Space MOuntain at Disney world was pretty good, because it was inside and dark, you didn't really know the directions.

I'm the biggest wuss on the planet. I can't go near those things with a ten-foot pole. I've been on one, once (don't even remember the name, at Cedar Point though), and I'll never do that again. Scared the fucking shit outta me. I won't even get into the intestinal complications either, that was just not cool.

As such, I hateallroller coasters with a passion. Die infernal tools of fear!Ph34r!

I'd say the Millenium force at Cedar Point. It didn't bang my head around like all of the other rides, and it was quite a rush, at almost 100 miles an hour in an open car. It was worth the two-hour wait, in my opinion. And they're opening an ever faster one this year. I'll try to ride that too.

Closer to home, I'd say the Jack Rabbit at Kennywood. The line's not too long, and on the drops, it gies you that feeling that you're flying off of the tracks.

I don't like the rides that go under other rides and create the illusion that you're going to hit your head. They're more scary than exciting.

As posted in the ride thread...

Ghost Rider at Knott's Berry Farm.

http://www.themeparkreview.com/knotts/gr1.htm
I forgot the stats for it... Highest speed is a little under 60 mph though, and there are quite a few drops. Its wooden, and feels like its about to fall apart when you ride it.

Space mountain was ok, but it was just lots of twists, no falls... :?

At Disney, Space Mountain, Big Thunder, Rocknrollercoaster, and Tower of Terror.

At Universal Islands of Adventure: THE HULK! It is the best coaster I've ever been on. Ever.

At Ceder Point: Magnum, Raptor, Mantis, Power Tower, Corkscrew, and Gemini are my favorites.

At Six Flags Darien Lake (near my hometown): Viper and Predator.
