Rogue Squadren 3 pics revealed!

Post by Anarchist Bunny »

http://gamers.com/game/1340454/media is the link.

They show 3 hoth scenes, so thats a level, (2 of them are luke rappling up to thermdet a AT-AT the other shows a Tauntaun next to at AT-ST and an AT-AT in the background, most likely a cutscene)

2 Endor scenes, which is new to RS, one is first person of Luke on a speeder in the forest, which sounds like fun to me, and the other is first person AT-ST blasting a tree, you're probly chewie, but I think it would be cool to have the ground battle of endor level as the empire.

There are 2 Death Star scenes, one is in the trench, with a split screne and two different fighters, can anyone say Co-op? The other appears to be a cutscene with 3-PO in a DS corridor and Stormies in the background.

Finally their is an air battle scene which just shows an X-Wing, a shit load of TIEs of both variants, and a Transport, I doubt it is hoth though because of the appearance of Interceptors.

Tycho on penny arcade was bitching about them using NJO setting in the game, these scenes may just be a teaser from some bonus levels(likei in the first RS) where you could play classic battles. I've played 5 different versions of the battle of Hoth, and they just keep gettting better and better, and I'm looking forward to the new one, Endor is a completed new setting, and DS will probly just be the get use to the controls level.

Dude, that one scene where the X-Wing is fighting off like 50 TIEs (escorting that transport maybe?) is just...too cool.....

And Endor. I wouldmurdera village of innocent pigmies to get my hands on an Endor space battle. Ground is nice, but a space battle? Ohhhh yeah. 8)

Yeah, but you wouldn't catch me dead doing that unless I was either in a capship or the Falcon. Preferably a capship.

Yeah you have to protect the med frigate as about 18 bombers blast the hell out of it and about 50 other ties are flying around, then you have to kill 2 ISDs at wonce with more ties flying around

It is by far one of my favorite stages in any SW game. Here's a screen shot for ya, DGG.
Battle of Endor]

This is taken after they realize it's a trap, and the ships are turning around to face the Imperial fleet.

I actually was rather disappointed with the endor mission on RS2. Those two ISDs you had to destroy were pretty much the only imperial warships there. The mon cal models were impressive, but the whole thing lacked depth. I wanted to strafe the Executor, dammit! Damn thing wasn't even ingame, at any point. They could've used extensive LODs and gotten the whole damn battle in there, but no, they had to have this tiny little prelude to the tunnel run, which wasn't that great either. At least in XWA there was some length to it, even if it was short in actual distance (necessitated by the rediculously slow game speeds). I would buy a GC if they'd release the Battle of Endor as a single game. You could do that, you know. Let you play through it as Luke, Han, Wedge, Lando, or plenty of others. Give it exceptional replay value. Use the physics you actually see in SW instead of making it that standardized arcade crap. Build it well in in cockpit, out of cockpit, FPS, or other viewpoints. Put in every single damn ship and troop. Bonus missions as Falcon gunner TIE Fighter. I would pay so damn much for that.

Yeah, they were REALLY Limited in the time they had to make it, I think they said they had half the time a normal game does to make RL, and so they had to cut corners(exsplosions, I think they didn't get to make the Slave 1 what they wanted, or as many levels). I just hope they get all the time they need to make this game an absolute classic.

Does anyone else think that the AT-AT looks really run down?
