Fucking parents and fucking Greek Easter

Post by Vympel »

Let's get one thing straight. I'm not going to fucking church tonight. For one obvious reason: I'm an atheist. This of course causes uproar in our house.

1: Mum comes in and tries to get me to go. Her reasoning:

a: It's Easter.

My answer: I'm not religious.

b: Yes you are, you were christened Greek Orthodox

My answer: when I was a fucking infant and I didn't even give my consent. I am an atheist.

c: Look at what that computer's done to you!

My answer: fuck off (I didn't really say that, but anyway). This has nothing to do with the computer.

d: All these other families are going to be there!

My answer: I don't give a flying fuck (also not what I said).

Argument devolves into all sorts of nonsense, and culminates in my Mum saying she's never going to talk to me again and my Dad saying that I should move out tommorow.

Fuck them.

The worst part bout the entire argument was that I was unassailable as to why I refused to go, and so my Mum decided to change the subject to her favorite 'the computer has wrecked your mind' spiel, which I fucking resent to the utmost- even more so when if I actually argue back, I'm not showing 'respect'. Fuck them.

Well, Vympel, you do have my sympathies. Best of luck on new accomadations if the threat is followed through with; it might not be idle, though hopefully it was made in the heat of the moment and is regretted.

The thing that wrecked a family is "religion" who decided you have to go to church,if God is everywhere then you can worship him in you backyard.[/b]

I can imagine how you're feeling, you have my sympathies. :(

(Although I can hardly imagine that your parents were serious about all those things they said.)

That's terrible. You have my sincere sympathies. Don't they realise how hypocritical they're being? I hope they calm down, act a bit more rationally and let you stay (asusming you want to).

Crisis over. Called their bluff, and watched as they freaked out at the notion that I would move out (I walked out the door and went for a walk at 10:00pm at night).

(Greek parents are unlike other culture's parents- their son moving out of home is a nightmare not to be contemplated)

Uni will be finished when the year is out, as soon as I have enough cash to sustain myself in a dingy little apartment I am moving out.

Thanks all for listening to my bitching and moaning.

Ugh. Greek parents.

Are they first or second generation Greeks? First generation people are usually the worst...

Eeek is right. I suppose they want you to marry a nice Greek girl (if they haven't already picked one out for you...)

What, you didn't employ your HAB standard issue objective ballistic escape pod system, or have you not yet been issued with one? Better check with the quartermaster.

Anyway, its good the bluff was called and things can return somewhat to normal.

Indeed- a nice rich Greek girl, preferably, though our family is already pretty well off.

Not that I have a problem with marrying a Greek girl. Or any girl, for that matter.

If so, I recommend Newcastle, it has a city like atmosphere and is a nice place to live.

I live on 210 a fortnight (rent bills and food) - not out of choice however, once I brow beat centrelink into fixing my payments up it will be back to 300. Some of my friends on the mainland are paying 200 a fortnight just for rent...
