Personally, I prefer running gags when they actually make sense. Or aren't beaten into the ground by people just dropping in.

Now, if I called anyone who agreed with someone else more than once or twice their "tag-along, elitist prick sidekick", I'd have my ass hung out to dry by bitter people who confuse the Magi with SEELE. (
