The E-D is actually 640m long, but Kynes accidentally flipped the numbers. I should fix that...JodoForce wrote:460m long? How do you make a crewed starship (flagship class no less) almost fit inside a sports stadium??Dalton wrote:God...
This is for those who think the E-nil could take it out with sheer firepower alone.

It's not the megatons you have to worry about its the spase time fluctuations when the warp drive blows. (not to metion the force of a large ship charging through another) But you are right it still might not distroy the death star but it might damage it badly. As I said the whole point is nil because the Empire's force wouldn't let the Entaprise get that close in the first place.Col. Crackpot wrote:are you on drugs, son?Ajaz50 wrote: There is however 1 way that the Ent could win. Simply crash the damn ship into the deathstar. Subspace explosioton, warp breach, etc.... Its rubble. Of corse then we'd have to kill everyone on bord because the imperials would never let them servive, if they escaped the explosion (assuming they would be stupid enouph to let the Ent that close in the first place) Even that wouldn't distroy it though, only disable it, and only if they hit it the right way.
even if the ent-nil detonated it would only be in the magnitude of a couple hundred megatons. far less than even a single heavy turbolaser bolt.

He thinks that the explosion caused by a m/am reaction out of control would warp spacetime to some degree. Somehow I don't see this happening to any significant amount.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:But still, what are you talking about?

IIRC they arent without thier own problems and seem to have real problems with beaming onto other ships other than transporter to transporter....Darth Negation wrote:Aha, but all this disruption is shown in TNG, DS9, and VOY. Why does TOS not show these problems??? Eh?

True...
But you don't know how wide the "intermediate zone" is. It could be VERY wide, or it could be so narrow that there is just about no middle ground - intact transport or totally failed transport.

Actually, how did the fighters get through the shields of the DS1 originally? In ANH, I mean. I remember reading somewhere they flew through "seams in the shields", and so couldn't the E-Nil transport through that?
Yes, I need to come back to the heavy metal part of the arguement later...

Yeah, that's exactly we don't know.Kazuaki Shimazaki wrote:But you don't know how wide the "intermediate zone" is. It could be VERY wide, or it could be so narrow that there is just about no middle ground - intact transport or totally failed transport.
So for all we know they CAN beam an antimatter bomb through heavy shields and heavy armor and when it reaches the other side it would automatically detonate, having ben broken into a thousand fragments spread evenly through the Death Star
