The irishmick's preferred choices for Beer:
Guiness for those low key nights out on the town and occasionally around home.
Heineken for a good beer to have around the house. For some reason I just don't like to drink it when I'm at a bar. It's too up scale....
Leinenkugel's Creamy Dark Lager. Man, this is rapidly going up the list of the Irishmick's favorites. Great, smooth flavor and very easy to drink
Milwaukee's Beast Ice is a home town favorite for those nights when getting blottoed is the only mission on your mind.

Well...in my younger days I loved to drink Jack Daniels, Barcardi, and Jose Quervo(sp)
Bier- British or German dark beer. American Beer is piss water. Canadian beer is a bit better.
Now-a-days I very rarely drink. Hell 1 bier will give me a buzz now.

i´ve never heard of Gewurstwamiener.Frank Hipper wrote:salm, I've never even heard of Rakia. And I forgot Gewurstwamiener in my wine list. Oh, and Black Cat cellar or however you say in German....
black cat? that´s the mold that grows on the wine barrels when the humidity in the wine cellar is just right, if i´m not mistaken?
rakia is a clear schnaps made in bulgaria out of grapes or plums. i´ve never seen it anywhere else than in bulgaria but then i´ve not looked for it anywhere besides germany either. so if anyone of you ever comes across a bottle of that fine stuff buy it immediately and thank the mighty salm for informing you about that best of all liquors. drink it pure and slowly. keep it in your mouth for a while to enjoy the full flavor.
and last but not least, don´t mix it up with raki, the ouzo like anis schnaps.

Forgot to list mixes and wines.
Mixes: Black & Tan (Usually Mississippi Mudslide.)
Wine: Mead (Usually Chaucer's, it's about all I can find around here and it's decent enough) Plum Wine or Sake (Gekkeikan is good quality stuff in both those categories, and not stupidly expensive.)
It occurs to me, reading this thread, that I should import some of you guys for a three-day weekend in Tempe. You'd make welcome additions (and some much-needed voices of sanity) to the Mill Ave. festivities.

Jagermeister? Can't stand the stuff. Tastes like cough medicine.Sokar wrote:Ah, my nemesis in a bottle, Jagermeister......many rounds we have danced and alwaya a drunken draw it ends up.BrYaN19kc wrote:Jagermeister or Jell-O shots when the party really gets going.
My favorite shot combo is a shot of chilled Jager, followed with a shot of Goldschlager with a beer chaser. Usually leaves me a gibbering mess without motor control by the end of the night

Ya'll every try a Sake Bomb? You take a pint of Guinness or any other beer, Guinness is best, and drop a shot of Sake in the pint. Then you sink the lot all in one go. If your still standing after 5 of these your not human. My record is 4, although that was on an empty stomach.

No beer or wine for me. Rye and Coke or Ginger Ale, Bailey's, Goldschlager and Long Island Iced Tea.
An odd one I tried this year: A shot each of Rum and Gin in a small glass of Coke.
