GL: Will you stop hurting the genre?
RB: No..
GL: Then die!
*Berman is lowered into the tank*
GL: Would you like to join your friend Mr. Braga?
Braga: I must. He was the smarter one.
*Braga jumps into the shark tank*
GL: Steve, Harison, kill the sharks. I feel so bad about feeding them that knod of drivile. But I pity the poor saps who watch Enterprise even more. They eat that every Wed. night.

"What is this, how dare you to treat the greatest star wars literature author of all time like this"
"Ah mr Anderson, how nice to join us"
"Mr Lucas, what is all this?"
"After reading the first three pages of your book Darksaber and glancing shortly at it my brain started to hurt.C'moon Kevin, why the hell did Daala order down the troops and fired low powered shots if she wanted to kill the students at the Jedi academy? And then your superweapon of the week, its just not plausible anymore Kevin boy and i decided that you have hurt the name Star Wars enough."
"BULLSHIT!! Daala's actions were genious! WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO HUH HUH!!!??"
"Let me introduce you to my two little friends, Darth Teeth and Darth Mean"
The two great white sharks are allready itching to get some food.
Poor poor KJA is lowered slowly to the tank.
"Enjoy the meal boys!"
And so the taint called KJA in SW literature was erased.

Are you fucking brain damaged? The Dune Prequals where good? Fucking hell where you dropped on your head often. Those fucking books are an insult to the good name of Dune and Frank Herbert. Just how often did your mother drop you when you where a baby?jakez0r wrote:Kevin J. Anderson isn't that of an author, i'm enjoying his Dune prequels (if they are the same guy at least).

Just what "good name" would that be? Dune was... all right, I guess, and it was the book that got me started on the English language. But the sequels? Amazingly dry, boring and mediocre.Darth Pounder wrote:Are you fucking brain damaged? The Dune Prequals where good? Fucking hell where you dropped on your head often. I agree that the the books 3-5 of the original series are boring. For me, a good book is a book I can enjoy and I am definately enjoying the prequels. I really don't see what is so bad about them, they provide explanations to events alluded to in the original books, such as the ever-mentioned Butlerian Jihad.

Aw come on. The Dune books where brilliant. Ok admitidly Emperor the second book was poor but the rest where brilliant.
I supose if you want mindless action from a source that is renowned for pissing on Great Sci-Fi legacys then KJA is your man. Some where in the world Frank Herbert knows about this and is spinning in a grave.

Yes, and to be honest, he sucks less than a number of other writers. Barbara Hambly, Vonda MacIntyre and Michael Stackpole are easily capable of dipping below KJA's level. But what makes KJA so special is his apparent intention to reduce Star Wars to the level of Nickelodeon or Xena the Warrior Strumpet.FettKyle wrote:Okay what is wrong with KJA I haven't read the Jedi acadamy series is that the one he wrote?

The first Dune book was absolutely incredible, the second was fairly short, but still a worthwhile read (Dune Messiah). Children of Dune and God Emperor of Dune (the book I'm currently on) are a little different.. okay, very different, but there are so many clever twists, and it all fits together nicely into a rich narrative.
I have a few minor problems with some of the realism in a few places, but overall a fine series. I haven't even touched the prequels... KJA makes me afraid. ; p
