Ah, yes, I know. But, I was looking behind me at the time, and you slit the throat of one of my doubles. You really think the commander of the HAB Tactical Fighter Command would be so stupid as to be killed by an assassin in a mech suit?

Not always a known fact ~ Evanescence is a Christian band. But I still like their music. In any case, they don't push it off, I don't think, as much as others. [shrugs]

Haven't heard their music, but I've heard they're rather good.

Now back OT. I have heard they are good, as well, never heard their music, though. Never knew they were a Christian band...

Yes, they are good. And IMO, one of few REAL rock bands. Personally, I don't like "Solitude," and my fave by them is "My Tourniquet." "Bring Me to Life" is the one used on the Daredevil soundtrack.

For the most part, there are two GOOD kinds of Christian music:

1. Classical music

2. Gospel. Not watered down, mamby-pamby gospel, but old time, deep South black gospel music one generation removed from plantation slave cadences.

There might be some good Christian rock, but most of it from what I've heard is awful, and that shit-in-a-CD-case "band" Creed is the worst Goddamn noise on the fucking radio, including loud screaming car commericals and the Beastie Boys (a cheap Pearl Jam knockoff with tripe about God added does not a good song make).

Lifehouse, Sixpence None The Richer, Creed (shivers uncontrollably.. though I did enjoy their song "Higher" after I thought Titan AE would be a cool movie from the trailers.. how wrong I was).

However, there are some really good Christian songs and groups out there. I'm guessing most of you detest Christian music on your bias against all things Christianity, but there are some more main-streamed songs that usually fall under a) Love songs or b) Contemplation songs that are actually pretty decent, some of the latter ones making me go "hmmmm."

Also, there are a number of Christian artists with really wonderful voices.

As for the commericals, they're no worse than those cheap romantic CD commericals. And the songs on those CDs I'd never buy since they're mainly simple praise songs sung better by hundreds of churches.

Alice Cooper's christian.

Religion doesn't affect music as much as this thread seems to make out....

Its funny that they put their hands up in the air, as if they're reaching to god. Most people cant even reach the ceiling, let alone the sky, let alone the character formally known to them as God All Mighty ho sits, stands, chills, in " heaven. " Wouldn't It be funny if He/She was really down... ha! imagine their look of disgust when all those Christian rock concert band goers get to the Gates of the after life just to be told by St. Peter, " We're sorry, you were reaching the wrong way ^^;; We're going to have to decline your request into Heaven... Cya! ^_^ "

ROFL.

Or maybe God is North. Maybe they should have been reaching North... Or how about when they always have their eyes closed? Maybe they will get to the gates and St. Peter will say, "sorry, but there was ONE time you opened your eyes during a Christian music concert. For that, you must go to Hell."

Robert Treder wrote:It's like, you're a Christian? Fine. You listen to Christian "rock"? Ok, not too big a problem. You only listen to Christian "rock"? Uh...that's weird. You actually go to Christian "rock" concerts, know all the words to the songs, sing them with your eyes closed and your hand entwined in your friend's hand? Stay the fuck away from me.
I see where you're coming from, but how different is that than seeing folks doing the same things at regular rock concerts? I mean, when I was at a Van Halen concert I saw people doing all of those things you mentioned (singing with eyes closed, etc...) in addition to shaking their heads, screaming at the top of their lungs, etc.... What's the problem?

I really really hate creed, but their first album, "my own prison" was excellent. All the rest was commercial trash. I mean EVERY song.
