Trek XI

Post by Hades »

Being as its unlikly they will keep the next movie as a Next gen one (due to the failing at the box office this time around) what do you think will make a good next movie.

I Personlly belive a mix next gen/DS9 movie would be good. focusing on the DS9 storyline.
Basically the film would be about The Prophets Vs the pah Wraiths. All the DS9 crew would get called back from their various locations to help as well as the Enterpirse E getting called to the scene.

Im a bit shaky on knowlage on who now controls DS9, the federation or Bajor??? either way the dramatic opening sequence would involve something emerging from the wormhole and attacking DS9 some sort of ship charged with an energy (which will later discover is an escaped Par Wraith) The Par wraiths have somehow discoverd a way to infuse their essence with a ship.

Enter Enterprise- E. Who after a heated battle and much damage manage to defeate the one ship. But the Pah Wraith essence suvives even though the ship dosnt and escapes

After all this, down on teh Bajoran surface a glowing light starts and Ben sisko appears. He quickly gets himself transport to DS9 and in a confrence with Picard tells him of the Pah Wraith threat and that he is here to help. He also requests the resembling of his crew.

..... iv run out of time
But stay tuned for the next exsiting instalment of Trak XI (hades version)

also of course feel free to put your own ideas for the next movie

The Prophets Vs the pah Wraiths thing would make a crap bases for a movie imo , they where a major storyline expored and exploted throughout the DS9 run and as such we already know a lot about them so your not bringing anything new to the movie, it would just basically be an extended DS9 ep.

there are loads of open story line from all the series which can be explored in the next movie. much like WOK did and I would hope the next movie they'll go back to basics and chose to explore atleast one of them.

I honestly hope they don't do any new movies for a while. They haven't addressed the problems that have made Insurrection and Nemesis such dismal failures. The problem isn't the story but the people telling it. Until those are fixed any future Trek movies are likely to be 2 hr episodes (if you're feeling like being charitable).

But that IS an open story. We dont know THAT much about them yet, it has lose ends with what happend to Ben Sisko (saying he will come back) and Dukat. It was a brilliant story arc in the series that could be expanded on and made better for a movie while also giving a gateway from the Next Gen crew movies to DS9 movies

I would watch a DS9 movie only if Rondald D. Moore was in charge and B&B were kept out.

Your opinions have beem comming from way out in right field and people are a little anoyed about your blind defense of Nemesis and stauch resistance to any change in the movie. You might want to step back a little and examine your own behaivor.

its an open story yes, but its also a story which we know a great deal about and would be rather dull.

to me i'd taken it to the B5 TV movies, could extensions of the show which continue to tell the story but being nothing new to the show. there should be something from the series no doubt but they shouldn't just continue to tell the same story over and over, and because to be frank I felt the last 2 seasons of DS9 where rather dull anyway.

there are 100s of open storylines which they can continue on, story we don't know all about, storys we all want to see. look at the movies so far none of they have had any of the walk ons which made the TV shows such huge sucess's , No Q argueable the greatest personallty in Star trek or any of the others...

The Pa'Wraiths(sp?) and the Prophets fight has been settled. It was covered in the final episode of DS9 when the Sisko fought Dukat each being the eimisery(sp?) of the two powers. Dukat lost, Sisko raised up and the Bjorans joined Starfleet. Game over there is no more room and if Beavis and Butthead fuck over any more of the Trek i actually like i'll be forced to buy a high powered rifle and torture shoot the bastards.

Gah, the whole Prophet plot was the worst part of DS9.

On the contry. The pah wraiths wernt sestroyed. they are mearly imprisiond and we dont know what happend to Dukat after he fell into that pit Much like Sisko joined the Prophets he may have joined the Pah wraiths. And there is always the posibility of them escaping.

As for all aspects of the pah wraiths being coverd already this is as true as saying all aspects of Kahn or the borg had been coverd before the movies.
Surly its a new aspect they the Par'wraiths are a threat to more than the wormhole alians and individuals.
In this storyline they could comand whole fleets of these ships enfused with their essence and be a threat to the federation as a whole. That was never coverd in the series

The episode made it clear that Sisko's last act as Emmissary was to seal the Pai-wraiths forever.
