Bollocks. You get to look at hot chicks in short shorts (at least in HS PE).

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

Crap. Please read my rant about single sex maths classes.
And then bear in mind that the only sport I've ever been good at is Mixed Hockey.

I go to boy scout camp during the summer, for a week or two. the changes that occur are amusing to watch, with 300 boys and no girls.

you should try it sometime, tho I shudder to think how the changes would occur over months or years.

What's with the math thing, do my genitals affect my numerical ability?

Of course. Duh.

I personally can count all the way to nine with a ruler and my penis. That's WAY higher than a girl could count with a ruler-genital tool. So OBVIOUSLY my penis makes me superior in math.

I couldn't even TYPE that with a straight face. :D

Depends on the units you're using...

At my high school we had PE at the same time as girls. About half the time we had co-ed activities but ocassionally there were activities that were single gender (wrestling-->boys, self-defense-->girls). Although, I think the state started discouraging dividing male and female PE classes when I was a senior. Anyway, my intended point was that even if I wasn't in the same specific activity as the girls I still go to see them in their PE outfits.

Oh yeah, swimming classes were always co-ed.

You wouldn't have to be out of sight from each other. Besides, there may also be ugly chicks in short shorts that you may not wanna see.

I went back and read your post, but I still think it is better to split the classes via sex. My rational behind this is that math class is all about problem solving, and it has been my experience that male and female brains work differently in this regard, and therefore require different teaching approaches.
The most basic assumption about the world is that it does not contradict itself.

And what about those of us who's brain works in the worng way for our sex?

Can't you just divide the class according to problem solving ability?

Man, that's just twisted... 'Cuz if I said I had 9", I'd essentially be saying that I had a 1" dick. And that's just not right.

I am a product of single sex schooling in High School and I can't say that I remembered anything bad about it. I got laid regularly, I met plenty of girls after school and around the neighborhood so there was no real "OH god, no girls?" attitude. My brohter on the other hand went to a co ed school and ended up nearly flunking out because he started spending more time chasing skirts than paying attention in class.

And just to counter Queeb Salaron's rather broad brush stroke against the products of such an education I am neither a misogynist nor a gay basher.

Well, my idea is not based on aptitude, but different methods of learning generally found between the sexes. This is not a black and white issue, and there will always be exceptions to the rule. This is why you are in theory suppost to have highly trained and experienced teachers to bend policy and work in these grey areas.
The most basic assumption about the world is that it does not contradict itself.

When I was in elementary school, they divided us into groups. English, math, spelling... all dependant on how well you could do each. A MALE friend of mine and I were always in the same group. In fact, we constantly competed against each other all through elementary (untill they redrew the districts and I went to a completely different school). These groups allowed the teacher to go around and help those that needed help more than the others rather than have the whole class working on one thing and part of the class bored out of their minds because what they are doing is easy to them.

Now tell me why they can't go back to that system?

I am a product of segragated education. The school i went to was split into two seperate complexes. Wanna know the result, 60% of the year i was in ended up parents or with suspected pregnancies at one point or another.

When it came time for the GCSE's certain classes became mixed, the result was complete bedlam. The guys all started trying to be Alpha and the most of the girls that came up to my classes became airheads who couldn't talk but only giggle and whisper a lot. These happened because of the face that we spent the formative years of puberty seperated.

I know several guys who went to another school that was integrated and there where very few pregnancies in the higher years. They where brought up with the differences and didn't act like sex starved morons when faced with the opposite sex.
