The facts about PETA
This is why these bastards make me so mad.
1. The animal rights movement believes that a rat's life has the same value as a child's.
2. According to PETA. the following activities are morally wrong: owning a pet, going to a zoo or circus, swatting a fly, wearing leather, suede or silk, eating meat, drinking milk, riding a horse, and fishing.
3. The animal rights industry raises and spends over $300 million annually, yet does not operate a single animal shelter.
4. Despite the fact that 11 million animals are destroyed in shelters each year, PETA gave less than $5000 of its vast resources to animal shelter and spay and neuter programs in the US.
5. The U.S. Department of Justice reports that animal activists have shown "an increasing willingness to engage in more militant and costly activities."
6. PETA is a media mouthpiece for the Animal Liberation Front, which the FBI calls a domestic terrorist organization.
7. PETA says arson, property destruction, burglary and theft are "acceptable crimes" when used for the animals' cause.
8. In 1995, PETA sent $45,200 to convicted animal rights terrorist Rodney Coronado.
9. Animal rights violence has increased the cost of security for research facilities 10-20% according to the US Department of Justice.
10. PETA is intolerant of those who would exercise their desire to disagree. Critics are threatened and harassed.
11. PETA believe public humiliation of individuals is necessary to force change.
12. PETA attacks children's charities such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Boys Town, and the March of Dimes.
13. PETA urges children to throw pies at McDonalds staff and riot.
14. PETA justifies the killing of animals under its control. PETA killed 32 animals it had "rescued" because it "ran out of space to house them."
15. The animal rights movement "takes the animals' side in every instance."
16. PETA and HSUS misrepresent photos and misquote studies to denigrate medical research.
17. Animal rights advocates blocked research aimed at stopping breast cancer and AIDS. They also oppose routine vaccinations.
18. The movement is against animal research, even when its benefits to health are scientific fact.
19. Animal rights means an end to all cures for diseases.

Its all a fabrication! The statistics have been taken out of context - there are gross fabrications and outright lies throughout that statement...
what... you want me to prove this... but... but... we know its true! Charlton Heston and NRA would never lie to me!

Yeah, I don't get where that came from
"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

I don't know about March of Dimes. They oppose Make-A-Wish, however, because one of the wishes they granted was allowing a kid to hunt a grizzly bear.Asst. Asst. Lt. Cmdr. Smi wrote:Why am I not surprised? The only good thing we got from those loonies were the naked chicks.
Also, why do they oppose the March of Dimes and the Make-A-Wish Foundation?

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

Did Justin fabricate shit and lie to get his point across? Oops, I didn't mean lie; I meant "use misleading innuendoes," because we all know that's so different from lying.weemadando wrote:No, this is the right thread. Thank you newbie for coming in here and showing us the light. And to think, I was just about to sign and stamp my monthly PETA contribution check. I think I will instead send the money to the "Al Sharpton's Operation Weight Loss" fund.Justin wrote:This is why these bastards make me so mad.

Actually most of it is indeed true. We know Peta does give monetery aid to people accused of acts of arson. bugulary and terrorism against Medical facilities, Chicken Farms, and Logging companies. We also know that peta does give money to the Animal Liberation Front and Greenpeace, and the ELF which have been listed by the Justice department as domestic terrorist organizations. We also now that they don't give much money for animal shelters in the USA.weemadando wrote:[Rabid Right Winger in anti-Mike Moore mode]

First off, the reason they hate the March of Dimes is because of animal testing. Because, as everyone knows, a rats life is worth so much more than some kid with leukemia's.
Second off. We all know this already. We regularly post topics about the stupid antics of PETA, ridiculing them all the way, and even have an 'ANTI-PETA LEAGUE'.
As was stated, yer preaching to the choir on this one.

Well, me being an evil Vast Right Wing Conspirator that I am, we have some fine vats of wine made from homeless, and regularly shoot small kittens with M-60s because they won't jump when I tell them to.Queeb Salaron wrote:And when I talk about roasting kittens with acetylene torches, I get flamed. No, those need to be given a proper burial. But you need to find dirt that has no worms or insects which might be killed when you dig the grave.Wicked Pilot wrote:

Kittens who don't jump have obvious and apparent links to terrorism.... But alas, that joke has been killed.

Ive actually gotten to meet PETA folks at work or school. Some are so naive they live in little world of their own construction. I actually think "animal rights" are secondary to the need for the person to belong to a group or cause.
A women who I shared an office with got the PETA magazine. Since we worked different hours I would look at it when she was not around. I remember one article stated we did not need animals for cancer research because computers were more powerful than ever. This was around 98-99.
