Should I buy Gladiator or Spirited Away?

Post by HemlockGrey »

I just saw Gladiator again, and I saw Spirited Away for the first time. Now, I will be making some purchases soon, and I must have your input.

I liked Spirited Away much more than Gladiator.

Plus the animation is simply amazing at times.

I haven't seen Spirited Away, but I know that Gladiator is required ownership. So Gladiator.

Both are good. I say go with Gladiator, though. I liked it better than Spirited Away personally. I felt that Spirited Away's story was somewhat lacking, and wasn't as impressed with the animation as I was with some of the scenes from Gladiator. Plus, since you've already shown a willingness to see gladiator multiple times, then it would make more sense to buy that.

To tell you the truth, I really didn't think much for Gladiator, and thought it was only above so-so. :?

Get Spirited Away. I'd rather spend money to support a "fringe" genre like anime than on yet another smash-hit Hollywood monster that doesn't need the help.

And for the record, I never could watch Gladiator through. I find documentaries about the time to be far more interesting.

Both were good, but if I could only own one, I'd pick Spirited Away.

I personally think Gladiator was one of the very few movies the Academy actually used their brains to decide on (Best picture award).

I haven't watched Spirited Away yet. But Gladiator is a good one, IMO.

Perhaps. Gladiator should be cheap as shit nowadays.

Then again, since Hemlock is only 13, Spirited Away has a more appropriate rating. :P

Spirited Away, I'd say. It's pretty damn good, and I liked it better than Gladiator, which is a good movie too.

Gladiator. Then save up money and get Spirited Away.

Both are good DVDs worth owning.

There is really no contest here. I own "Gladiator' on VHS AND DVD because it kicks so much ass. Get it.

I'd personally say Gladiator myself. But then again, I'm not terribly impressed with Spirited Away so I'm hardly an objective viewer here.
