I would say Newark, which isn't on this list, but the worst on this list is LA.

I have to say that the worst parts of L.A. are much worse than anywhere else. It's like a stinking third world country. Even when you walk around downtown, you have to step over homeless people with every step.

Detroit needs to be on that list. Never been there, but I understand it's awful.

Well, Ive never been to any of those cities except for LA. LA is cool for some things but its a runaway urban planning nightmare and I would not want to live there.

Its hard to decide. LA is a shithole, Detroit is a pit, and Philadelphia sucks.

Fuck it, its L.A. Smog sucks

I never really found Philadelphia to be attractive, probably beause the only reason why I've been there was because a highway goes through it, and there are a lot of slummy areas around the highway.

PS. I wonder how many votes New York would have gotten before 9/11.

Philadelphia might claim to be the city of brotherly love, but it sure isnt if you are a sports team there. The fans in Philadelphia are always considered the meanest in almost every sport. People that mean get my vote.

Actually, the situation in New York is much better these days then it has traditionally been, thanks in no small part to Giuliani.

Very little, NYC had undergone a FUCKING rennaisance under Giuliani. People were no longer getting mugged on the subways, graffitti became a weird thing of the 80's, Times Square became a true tourist attarction and not the home of Pimos and crack dealers. The city was not what you see in the movies of the late 70's and 80's.

You know, I actually kind of liked the grafitti-covered subway trains in the 80s. I remember visiting NYC once in the 80s and we saw a train that had been cleaned up. I was quite disappointed. Luckily, the next one was what I was looking for 8)

Bloomberg is such a fucking ass. Its like he's intentionally trying to make it worse for everyone. He's pissing on Downtown because he wants buisnesses to disperse throughout Manhattan and not get concentrated downtown. What he doesn't seem to realize or care is that there is Infrastructure there, fiber optics, etc FOR the businesses downtown. I read that he is intentionally ignoring the please from businesses to fix some of teh streets, etc. His no smoking ban is costing already hurting businesses (bars and clubs) almost 20% of profits weekly. The one thing you don't do when your city is in dire economic straits is make things worse just because you have a thing about smoking. Ass.

I definately get a feeling like we're slipping back to the abyss that was the 80's under Dinkins (ABSOLUTE WORST MAYOR EVER)

For the ones on the list , LA. Its really is a city run amok, and it looks as if very little planning as done, ANYWHERE< to deal with the growth the city has experienced.

For ones not on the list, Detroit is a hellhole, although the scariest city I've been to, Gary IN. One time murder capital of the US and a textbook case of urban blight in America.

Los Angeles is the ongoing process of compressing as many buildings as possible into an amount of space and seeing how much time passes before they lose all their paint and become grafitti canvases.

LA is the embodiment of urban planning gone FUBAR.

I've personally never seen Detroit so I don't know how bad that place is, but LA:

Not only is it dirty, crowded, and painful to look at (miles upon miles of drab multi-colored buildings with cracked grey concrete between them), but it's utterly flat (except for downtown, which is a bit cleaner). There's the sky, and look down and you see a vast stretch of concrete, brick, plaster, grafitti....

You see LA. Nuf said.
What's her bust size!?

It's over NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAAND!!!!!!!!!

AMEN!

EVERYBODY else in TN doesn't like Memphis. It is like a big zit on our beautiful state.

Nashville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Jackson, on the other hand, are right nice towns. But really, Nashville is by far the nicest major city I have ever been in, and I have been in alot.

Parts of the city could be called a postindustrial wasteland; Unions did a very good job of chasing out every single industry. However there are some nice areas within Philadelphia. Plus we have the Rocky steps and an armored cruiser.
