Words not uttered on Earth in centuries, not since the last King of England ascended the throned, to be deposed years later in a series of world wide coups, the likes never seen before. The overthrow and dissolution of the old monarchies paved the way for a Communist and Utopian society to be born.
"THE KING IS DEAD! LONG LIVE THE FEDERATION!"
Not the greatest statement to be sure, but one that led to the eventual downfall of Earth and her colonies, and the restoration of the greatest Empire known to Earth. Out of the ashes of the United Federation of Planets, the British Empire arose and claimed dominance over the land and space of the Federation.
"THE FEDERATION IS DEAD! GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!"
"LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!"


An Empire, created out of the old, led by those who were shunned and exiled from their home, the former Royal Houses and their supporters, Legions of soldiers, and some of the greatest military thinkers. Whole tribes such as the Gurkha's from Nepal jioned the exiled. The new world leaders banished them to a system far from prying eyes, fearful of what might happen if they were allowed access to the general population. Requiring an entire decade to transport, all those millions of people and some supplies. The new government didn't attempt to control the flights to the planet, so a few daring individuals secretly suplied the exiles with news, equipment, and the latest updates on technology. Able to evolve at an equivalent rate with the United Federation of Planets, then later to exceed them in developement of military equipment. Leaving the UFP to deal with the common, every day civillian advances, the exiles focused on military advances, increasing the power of their fleet. Army equipment was not lacking either, for the exiles brought with them entire army regiments, divisions, corps even of loyal troops, something that some say caused the lack of military of the Federation. While the Federation's starfleet consisted of science vessels and research ships, the Royal Navy consisted purely of warships, relying on their Mercantile Marine to provide the bases for research and science.

When an extra-galactic power arrived, needing supplies, basing and a home, discovering that they were now both exiles, once from the leading powers, they decided to claim what was theirs. An invasion of the United Federation of Planets and surrounding area's was begun. Finally, after centuries of waiting, Monarchs finally set foot on their home ground, after a destructive conflict that left the Federation in ashes.



I need some idea's as to when to set it, and other things.

Is this before the federation comes to power? It starts during the time of Kahn and the Eugenics war? Or is this during the TOS or TNG?

It looks like you're trying to combine a fantasy role-play world with Star Trek and create and alternate universe that can combat SF and the UFP. But again, I am having trouble following. Perhaps its just me and others can give you the input you're asking for.

Please clarify. I am more than willing to offer some ideas and assistance, but I need a better understanding of what it is that you are asking. ^_^ ?

I'm thinking of having it set in the wake of the Dominion war.

It would be an Imperial Remnant fleet that got transported to the AQ. Therefore, SW plus Brits vs. ST.

You should make a list of Empirial Assets. And see exactly what is to be brought to bare. Also, since you are introducing The Brits as it were, a novel idea I may add, you could use the Dominion as an additional facet of this combat. I can't begin to say how angry I was at that Cop-out that DS9 pulled when they had the worm-hole aliens slay all with big magic. I felt as if the episode had robbed me of something. Time, I think it was.
