I see.Admiral Valdemar wrote:The English EVA noises are funny, especially for the production ones. They had to cut them because they were on the same audio track as the Japanese VAs and not the SFX part as normal.
On that matter, does anyone know who did the vocal sounds for the EVAs (or at least for EVA-01)? I heard back on GundamWatch that it was Megumi Hayashibara, but for such haunting sounds to come out of a woman that has provided such beautiful voices seems a little unbelievable...
I believe in a sign of Zeta.

Oh, that is a good one.The Duchess of Zeon wrote:Do not get Gladiator. Please don't get Gladiator. Don't get Spirited Away, either, however.
Get The Fall of the Roman Empire, directed by Anthony Mann and starring Sophia Loren, Stephen Boyd, Alec Guinness, James Mason, and Christopher Plummer, with a soundtrack by Dmitri Tiomkin. It's been released on DVD, for that matter. It's one of the great and most lavish of the old Roman epics of the 50s and 60s, and is based on the same historical events as Gladiator. It's cumbersome in some parts, but the soundtrack is immensely impressive and the scale of the production is awesome. Well-worth watching and a far better handling of the times than Gladiator IMO.
Out of curiousity, why not get Spirited Away? It's filled with meaningful-ness and deep, personal messages and stuff, but it's gorgeous to look at on top of it, without the gorgeousness taking over the movie at the expense of plot. Granted it didn't register very high on the badass scale, but that isn't really a bad thing. OK, Haku was pretty badass, but his badassness wasn't really a prominant feature in the movie.
