Samus Aran vs. Jango Fett

Post by Admiral Griffith »

Jango has his suit and all the guns, bombs, and blades that that implies.

Samus has her suit and all the guns, bombs, and blades that that implies.

First round is the Geonosian arena, second is on planet Zebes

FIGHT!

P.S. no fire support whatsoever. That includes random events such as rain, rust, lightning, meteors, BDZ, nukes, death stars, suit malfunctions, crazed redshirts, rebel sympathizers.... (continues on)
It is not well for one to trifle in the affairs of the ancient Chinese generals, for they have a tendency to send armies of tens of thousands of warriors after those who challenge them.

Samus wins because she's cooler, more adept, and the Fetts are nothing but tin can heads!!!

That kills Fett, Hundreds of missles, a couple hundred Super missiles, unilimited little bombs, about a hundred super bombs, HYPER BEAM!, Fett is out gunned. Plus Samas's suit can take a SHIT load of damage, walking around in Lava damage,(even without the special suit, she can take a long ass time in there)

Fett is Energy/KE Protected and flying up up and away and sniping till that Armor of Her's goes down is a strong opition

At least until Samus remebers the Rocket Launcher then Jangos going down

The love of huge guns, power armour, and cool ass ships? Hell yes.

I think it's kinda unfair to give Samus her Hyperbeam, though. It punches through every goddamn thing.

i didn't even know half of Samus' recently described arsenal existed. I was thinking of the one from super smash brothers, plus her little rocket launcher. oh well. guess my money's on Samus now.

You haven't played Super Metroid? I thought everyone here already had. If you thought the suit was tough, try Samus herself in the original Metroid game (via the Justin Bailey cheat, or just completing the game once in the Disk System version). Wading though lava and a hail of ememy fire in a one-piece swimsuit is very impressive (but doesn't have quite the cool appearance of the Barrier Suit (what she wears in SSB)).
Back on topic, Jango has a pretty big mobility advantage, but this is negated by the sheer volume of firepower that Samus can dish out -- he can simply be knocked out of the air with a well-placed Screw Attack, missile blast, or Wave Beam hit. A Hyper Beam or Super Missile would likely finish it. Those two (Jango and Samus) look like they were made for each other.

it goes like this: Samus and Jango end up seeing eachother before suiting up, and each one decides, in their own mind, to lose. They enter the arena and act like tactical idiots until Jango pulls his flamethrower out and scorches the paint off her Barrier Suit. Then she gets pissed, charges up a nice Charge Shot and fries him.

Samus drops her suit, orgy ensues :)

Seriously, they seem pretty even matched. Wait till Metroid Prime comes out so we can get a good idea on Samus' sensor suite, but until then I'll give it to Jango.

Samas has speed, power, durability, and sexyness. Fett can't stand a chance. Fett couldn't land a singel shot.

As cool as Jango is, realistically, he simply cannot compare to Samus.

Do we assume that Samus has the same kind of missile complement than in the game, or should we assume "realistic" figures ? We should wait until the next version ( which might be a little less fancy than Super Metroid ).

Yep. Metroid first showed itself in the dark unhallowed recesses of the NES catalogue.

Metroid was originally a Famicom Disk System game in Japan (where one could buy these tiny disks and have games written (or overwritten) to them for use on your Famicom; it was scrapped primarily due to maintenance costs for the FDS booths and rampant piracy near the end of the Famicom's life cycle). One of the biggest differences between the NES and the Famicom was that there was no Disk System port available, so Metroid became a "normal" NES game, and a password system replaced the savefiles. One of the U.S. staff added the "Justin Bailey" password (for swimsuit Samus) as a means to quickly bypass much of the early game (so that all you'd need to do was grab the Ice Beam and head for Tourian). Metroid was the second game I got for the NES as a kid; I guess that shows how old I am. I still play it (as well as the two sequels (for the Game Boy (no bloody Pocket, Color, or Advance) and SNES, respectively)) sometimes in emulation.
