Psych experiment: Converting Fundies into Gold

Post by The Yosemite Bear »

or actually cash....

So who would like to try setting up a site, designed to lure fundies into it, and have little "Pay Pal" and other merchendise, having a good deal of the proceeds going to groups they would hate, etc.

So what's your best ideas for the money trap?

It's only illegal if you commit fraud and lie about where their money is going.

For example, if I said "Send your money to the Church of Divine Recreation today!" it would be perfectly legal as long as the money really goes to the aforementioned church. If I happen to run that church and use the proceeds to buy myself a vacation in Hawaii, that's too bad.

If we're going for pure honesty, it would be amusing to make a site saying "Convert an atheist! Send me money and if I get enough, I will reconsider my opinion of fundamentalist Christians!" :D

Hmm I got an idea.

How I start a "Holy Shrine of the Hyperactive Stoned Quake G0d"?

Then ask people to donate, and have all the proceeds fund my new uber computer system, a T1 line, and lots and Lots and LOTS of Caffiene and (something soon to be legalized in Canada)...

Don't you still need to pay taxes on it though?

Unless your church had some tax break thing.

Not like it's that big a deal if he did, since the money is basically being collected nil effort and a lot of entertainment .

Churches have complete freedom from the IRS. As a matter of fact, these televangelist nuts that you see on TV don't even have to declare to the IRS.
