I deserve it beacuase I've run out of DVDs to watch (rewatching a collection of 6 several hundred times starts to get boring), and hereto, need new material to expand my horizons.
Or if that doesn;t work, I'll try reverse psychology. I don't want the DVDs at all. Go and give them to a bishbaby for all I care.

Since I am well versed in the art of *ahem* DVD Backup, give me a copy, and soon everyone else will soon be able to have their own personal DVD quality backup (only for backup purposes when they already own a legitimant copy, of course.)
I am capable of rearranging the fundamental building blocks of the universe in under six seconds. I shelve physics texts under "Fiction" in my personal library! I am grasping the reigns of the universe's carriage, and every morning get up and shout "Giddy up, boy!" You may never grasp the complexities of what I do, but at least have the courtesy to feign something other than slack-jawed oblivion in my presence. I, sir, am a wizard, and I break more natural laws before breakfast than of which you are even aware!

I sdhould have it cos in 4 weeks i'll have my own version.
Then i can do a thread just like this and get rimmed too!
EDIT:Yogi's idea is better.

We don't get B5 here in Australia, only Trek and Wars, if I had this I could spread word to the masses.

Voyager - *begins retching* and Stargate SG:1 that is sadly on at random times now due to the evils of Big Brother running 1 hour overtime every fucking time!Vympel wrote:Falsehoods! Oh, yes, and while everyone else will eventually be able to raise enough money to buy it, it is legally impossible for me to acquire any sort of job so I must satisify myself with saving the pennies I find under the sofa.
Oh, and I've never won anything in my life. Except a plastic alien. But EVERYBODY won the plastic alien.

Fuckers. Think of how this could impact the benefits of Brian Young's researches! Think of how much nicer stills he can derive from the videos.
Besides Mike - consider it a donation to a worthy cause. And IIRC, Didn't Brian share some rather nice computer hardware with you some time back?
(No asskissing here, just pure GUILT )

Very true, he's a first-class guy. On the other hand, if I guess correctly, he'd probably be the first guy to say that some impoverished person deserves it more than himBesides Mike - consider it a donation to a worthy cause. So far, I have heard numerous compelling arguments, and some rather bizarre ones

In that case, give it to Thirdfain, I want to hear how that little scenario turns out (assuming, of course, that he didn't just pull a tear-jerker to tilt the contest... ).Darth Wong wrote:Doesn't he already have it?

Please consider me for the second season on DVD. The reasons that I would be the best choice for this:
• I have been a Babylon 5 fan for years. It is not only my favorite Sci-Fi show; it is my favorite show period.
• I am an unemployed high school student. I would have to beg my parents for the second season as a gift and I would not be able to get it before Christmas.
• Babylon 5 is only aired on the Sci-Fi channel here at 8:00 in the morning on weekdays when I am at school. I have no other way to satisfy my addiction to Babylon 5.

Why do I deserve the second season B5 DVD set?
1. I am female and will hang out here if I get it.
2. Refer to 1.
3. I am graduating from UC Berkeley with honors and deseve something fun after being trapped in the UCB library for 4.5 years.
4. I can use it to blackmail my elder sibling (Nova andromeda if it's not obvious) into coming back to California, or doing anything else I desire
5. I'm an out-of-work aetheist scientist and the board should support the rational people in California who are suffering under Bush.
6. I'm a HUGE fan of B5 and would really like the DVD set to go with the DVD player I got for Christmas and for which I have all of two DVD's (and which used up all of my parental gift points).

I've never seen B5.
Therefore you should give it to me so that I can see some of B5. [Seriously though, send it to Brian Young/Thirdfan]

--My sister should get the B5 DVD's for some additional reasons:
1. I have been a loyal member of board since its very creation.
2. I support the board.
3. I don't have a village idiot title...
4. This is Evil Genius (TM) plan #6 to get my sister married off so that my parents pester her for grandkids an not me. It's absolutely brilliant. BTW, if any of you horny guys do anything except worship the ground she walks on I'll hunt you down like a rabid animal. Consider yourself warned....
5. I'd really hate to have to grovel and beg anymore for the B5 DVD set.

I would concur. As much as I would want the DVDs for myself, I vote for Thirdfain getting them. I know him personally, and if he were pulling a tear-jerker, I'd beat the tar out of him and tell the world (or at the very least, his parents ). He's an honest geek, I'll give him that.Lord of the Farce wrote:In that case, give it to Thirdfain, I want to hear how that little scenario turns out (assuming, of course, that he didn't just pull a tear-jerker to tilt the contest... ).Darth Wong wrote:Doesn't he already have it?

You will give to Mutant Headcrab. I have many..well....not quite so many reasons for you to give to Headcrab!
1. I am poor. The last of my money went to buying an import CD and a few manga.
2. I have already finished season 1. Getting Season 2 without having to pay for it would be even better.
3. I have been holed up in my room in a massive Half-Life binge in preperation for the forthcoming release of Half-Life 2. I need to do something other than hit stuff with crowbars. (Did I really just say that? Blasphemy!)
4. I control a vast army of headcrabs. It would be nice of you to send me the season set so that I could "convince" my headcrab army to come to your house and zombify you......
5. *Insert Witty Comment Here*
6. I have a shrine to Bester in my room. (A Lifesized cardboard figure surrounded by various psi-corp related objects)
7. Uhhh......I don't think that there is a number seven.
8. I can reveal the answer to life, the universe, and everything! (And if you know it I could help you figure out the question )
I can think of no more reasons. Logic dictates that my reasons were rather poor and that I will probably not win. Damn you infallable logic!!!

1. I have a DVD player
2. I live in Toronto so you won't have to mail it
3. I like Babylon 5
4. Remember how I had Ted's phone number and address in 5 minutes in that "Fucked up furnace with CO fumes" thread? If you don't give me the DVD set I'll look you up and kill you in your sleep.
5. I'm a cheap bastard and won't buy stuff I can get for free

Say, do you want it to be a threesome with your wife? Or a foursome with your wife and sister-in-law? I'm up for either.

C'mon Mike! Give it to me! I'm surrounded by rabid trekkies (whom thankfully don't have an internet connection) and I need something to keep them at bay. Plus, since Dorkstar lives within driving distance of me, I might be able to convince him to go after the fivers instead of you.

EDIT: I changed my mind, I can't miss something I never had.
HemlockGrey, how old are you? I got a job at 14 (I'm now 15) in Massachusetts, but I can't work longer than 2 hours on weekdays because I can't work more than 8 hours a day at a job or school. I wonder if that sentence is disjointed, I'm too tired to tell. Oh, and this is the first time I ever got to say this to anyone, ever:
Your lack of faith is disturbing... :p
And I didn't win the plastic alien, I bought it. :p
