Possibly a more extensive political shakedown than previously known?

The Empire, encompassing nearly all of the galactic disk as member sectors, contained thousands. Presumpably the New Republic contained a large percentage of the thousands of sectors under the Empire at it's height. The Yuuzhan Vong have taken less than half of the galactic disk. Does this imply that the New Republic, while spanning most of the galactic disk, was composed of more protectorates than actual members, with a large number of those member systems just happening to be within the invasion corridor? Are some of the former Senators censured for their abandonment of Coruscant and seizure of NRDF resources mentioned in Star By Star? Are some of the representatives just unable to be present? Has there been a political shuffling so that representatives no longer represent Sectors? Thuv Shinev represents the Tion Hegemony, which appears to be larger than one sector significantly.

Again the Empire at its height contained 1000s of Sectors. The Yuuzhan Vong invasion has occupied at best just over 25% of the galactic disk, in my opinion. Is representation in the Galactic Federation no longer by sector? Did many of the member sectors lie in the invasion corridor, with much of the NR having been protectorates instead? Are many former Sectorial Senators censured for controversy throughout the war and actions coinciding with the fall of Coruscant?

Your ideas are good, but what will act as the judical branch and who will head the legislatures.

I'm not making suggestions, I'm speculating and asking for commentary on the nature of the Galactic Alliance (Federation) government size and structure.

The strategic situation and territorial situation is in no way like that.

The strategic situation and territorial situation is in no way like that.

I meant only in terms of the government's structuring. In terms of a strategic and territorial situations, they would be simialr to those of the Empire during the reign of Issard at her height. However, this doesn't apply to the military strenghts and sizes.
