Damn. I need to watch this show.
Any city gets what it admires, will pay for, and, ultimately, deserves…We want and deserve tin-can architecture in a tinhorn culture. And we will probably be judged not by the monuments we build but by those we have destroyed.--Ada Louise Huxtable, "Farewell to Penn Station", New York Times editorial, 30 October 1963

Faye bests the other females, hands down

"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

The censor a bit of the blood and tone down the language. That and there's one nude scene that gets altered (not cut but cropped).Shinova wrote:Do they censor anything on that?
Also, what days? All weekdays?

Ugh, I didn't watch the series first on TV, but CNX over here doesn't cut anything, it's all original.Stormbringer wrote:The censor a bit of the blood and tone down the language. That and there's one nude scene that gets altered (not cut but cropped).Shinova wrote:Do they censor anything on that?

I guess that's acceptable, but I'd prefer the censors take a hike.Stormbringer wrote:They haven't cut anything so much as toned down some of it.Admiral Valdemar wrote:Ugh, I didn't watch the series first on TV, but CNX over here doesn't cut anything, it's all original.
I heard what they did to NGE for that mecha weekend on CN in the US. Ouch, at least the Sci-Fi channel over here showed NGE uncut and uncensored but in English unfortunately.

In Faye's defense...
Fanboy, you know what I'm going to say about the dog food incident. If you look at the ingredients, it's healthier than a lot of things humans eat!
Smoking: It's a fad. I'm sure she could quit rather easily. AND, she doesn't smoke as much as Spike does. Ed and Ein are pretty much the only characters on there that don't smoke.
THe provocative dressing: It helps in her line of work. At least 85% of all bounties are men. A good majority of that are probably sexist. Dressing in a provocative manner makes it easier to get close to the bounty and capture him.
The flirtation: see above
Underneath is all, Faye is a big softie. (See Speak Like a Child, Hard Luck Woman and The Real Folk Blues (both parts). You could also add Jupiter Jazz in there as well.) She cares very much for the crew. She just doesn't want to get hurt. That's why she puts up such a big front. (hmmm, getting fanfic ideas...)

In the occasions you mentioned, I think we're seeing the TRUE Faye, the way she wants to be under her shell, but can't because she's afraid of being jerked around again. I think Gren was hitting really close to home when he said "You were afraid they'd abandon you, so you just abandoned them first."Kelly Antilles wrote:Underneath is all, Faye is a big softie. I think the best moment Faye ever had was in RF Blues Part One, when she comes back after meeting Julia. She tells Spike he'll have to pay for the information, but then she ends up blurting it out anyway rather than watching him throw his life away. Her saying goodbye to Spike for the last time is also a beautiful interaction.

Thank you. You've just proven why I love Faye so much. She really is me. I can relate to her so much. Gren's quote... that's me.IG-88E wrote: In the occasions you mentioned, I think we're seeing the TRUE Faye, the way she wants to be under her shell, but can't because she's afraid of being jerked around again. That move she did in heavy metal queen, where she's about to capture the guy she thought was decker, y'know
where she shifts her hips and moves that tight little ass of hers....yow.

Why certainly, ever since I first came here I noticed your primarily Faye avatars and general liking of the character and as much as Spanky is an NGE nut and Wong one for SW avatars, you seemed a Faye fan.Kelly Antilles wrote:Care to explain?Admiral Valdemar wrote:Kelly is Faye-Faye. I'll admit, I believe that now anyway.
So I associate Faye with you more than anyone else and being female helps too.
