And this is why you don't watch anything produced by Ronald D. Moore after he had his brain surgically removed and replaced with a bag of elephant semen.-Gramzamber, on why Caprica sucks

Start with:

Sudan,
Boer War,
WW1 - Gallipolli and (shit forgotten the name of an Aussie general who the troops loved but all the other brass hated, why? Because he didn't like sending men over the top and found other ways to do things)
WW2 - North Africa, Kokoda trail.
Korea,
Malaya,
Vietnam - general order issued by NVA high command to not attack Australian forces as it was too damn costly, we knew how to fight in a jungle.
Gulf War,
Peace Keeping operations - UN tends to call in Australian forces for peace keeping when something more than just peacekeeping needs to be done. Also, Australian Forces generally request to be stationed well away from the US troops when peace keeping, draw your own conclusions.
East Timor,
Afghanistan,
Back to Iraq.

There's a few I missed, but that pretty much covers it. Last I checked Australian forces were at something like 12 wins, 1 draw (Korea), 1 loss (Vietnam - but not really our fault).

General Bridges I believe

Fuck MacArthur for not getting his story straight. The impossible task the Aussies had to hold back the Japanese from what could've been an important strategic victory cannot be overstated. And MacArthur didn't know what the fuck was going on and pissed on the Aussies for it.

To quote my "War and Peace in the Pacific" lecturer (who's American btw - which as you can imagine leads to some, interesting arguements between us in class):

"MacArthur was the best self-propagandising general since Roman times."

I'm glad Truman canned him.

He was a maniac.
