Who here likes old (or new) text only games, a.k.a. Interactive Fiction?

Zork!

Yes, they were a lot of fun way back in the day.....what ever happened to the likes of "Day of the Tentacle" or "Sam and Max : Hit the road" the graphic adventures and the text adventures of the good old days....where humor reigned supreme....

Zork, Planetfall, and Suspended all hold special memories for me.
There was another that was cool, SpellBreaker I think ???

I played a game called GeneForge in December. It has simple graphics and a lot of reading. Not exactly the same, but the stories are deep and involving.

Spiderweb Software is already making a Geneforge 2.

The Exile/Avernum/Nethergate series are also fun to play.

I thought text adventures were fun. I found parser-based graphic adventure games even more fun, though.

I make this thread because once in a while I like fooling around with game making tools, like TADS or Inform... it's fun but I don't really have good writing skills (specially in english) so I always end up stuck with a neat plot and no text :P

My favorite is between Hitchhiker and Planetfall. Floyd rules ;)

I find a well made Text Adventure Game to be far more enjoyable then almost all other types. But that's just me.
There is no problem to dificult for a signifigantly large enough quantity of C-4 to handle.

It might be because the TI-83 wasn't really designed for text...
