Depressive phases..

Post by haas mark »

As some of you know, I'm a bipolar/rapid cycler. In the past three days, I've had pissed off, depressed, and manic seven times. Right now, I'm depressed (I think I'm the most depressive person on the board). In any case, how often do you get depressed? WHat makes you depressed?

NOt sure whether I'm bipolar or not - I refues to go see a tehrapist because if I am depressed he'll take me off Depo - ansd I can't go on the pill because I suffer from migraines.

It's not very rapid, if it is - each pahse lasts a few days, but they're not sparked.

Been depressed and tetchy (as some people have noticed) recently, partly because I'm doing my finals (i.e. stress) and partly because it's my anniversary (PTSD).

Well I get depressed at least once or twice every damn day due to my utter failures in personal relationships, lack of direction with my life, and a lack of talent in any given field (athletics, art, writing, etc...)

So i've pretty much consigned myself to worthlessness. I used to get by with herbal remedies *cough* but since I've given that up long ago i've had to resort to the fact i'm still technically young.

i don't get so depressed these days because I realize that n one will ever give a fuck wether im happy or sad. Now I just dive into a general apathy towards all things and it sorta numbs it all up. I write a little bit too but the last time I vented that way I got good feedback from Kelly and a big thumbs down from everyone else.

And to top it off iv\'ve been sick all week, im having a nasty bout of insomnia during these last two weeks of finals and projects and to boot, im oogly.

:P Have a Nice Day!

I get depressed a lot and whenever I go to a psychologist they just make up their own flaming explaination for what's wrong with me. Of coused I've never gone to one without my parents there to interfere. Been too busy with college lately. I usually get depressed 2 - 3 times a day. I have a feeling it's going to take a while to figure this out.

Okay, so how quick do you switch out of "depressed mode" befor going into something else, say, manic or angry? For me, a few words can trigger a swing, and although the only extreme I ever hit is depressive, I do get pretty high on the anger and somewhat on the manic. Usually I'm about 75-90% of the time depressive, even when I'm manic or angered. 'Tis very rare for me to be in a genuine good mood.

I've been depressed for years and if it wasn't for my religious beliefs and my humour (it goes from groaners to sick and sadistic humour), I'd go off the deep end.

What causes it? Well... let's just say that there isn't enough space here to list them all.

P.S. When I first read that you were a bipolar/rabid cycler, I pictured two polar bears cycling fast on a bike. :)

I have been studying chemistry for the last 4 days...

Whenever I see 'bi-polar', I relate it to molecular charges.

Hmm, at very least once a year because of this damn S.A.D. disorder crap that makes me like plant that needs sunlight. As for that I tend to be rather manic ("My life sucks *3 secs later* Hey, is that a marshmellow? I LOVE marshmellows *2 secs later* Hey, this thing is hard, what the Fuck!*3 secs after 2 secs worth of throwing hard marshmellow at someone* Anyone else horny? *4 secs later* I'm tierd..." so on and so forth). I also analyze my life twice a year and get depressed. and then I deam it stupid and move on.

What causes my depression... life, society, the general principal of existance. Hey, I'm not skeptical, cynical, and sarcastic for my health.

How fast do I get over it? That depends on how busy I am. All told I've really only been depressed once from May 2002 to now, and that lasted for only 1 week (on top of that it was a strange mix of depression, hysterical self-amusement, and anger...).

I'm happy about 50% of the time, actually - I'm generally a very bubbly person. But on occasions I can be in floods of tears because of a story I made up...

I get depressed when i wake up alone and when i look at myself in the mirror. I think there are many things that cause my depression. I've been engaged 3 times in my life, I drink way too much, i'm overweight, and i spend too much time sitting infront of a computer, plus i've tried twice to win a Darwin Award.

What scares me is how quick i am to go into a rage lately. Sometimes even a look can set me off now. I hate it. I hate having to take these damn pills.

What makes me happy is seeing someone arround me happy, and having something go my way for a change. I don't mean to sound like a spoilt child but when it comes to the important things like career and relationships nothing ever goes right. I always fuck it up somehow.

I am sick and i have a lot to problems even if i do manage to hide them well from my parents. But what keeps me going is the fact that Karma does come arround. I've taken all life and throw at me and i'm still standing. The Universe owes me a big favour.

I never get depressed. Now you're starting to make me wonder if this is odd.

I'm clinically depressed, so I go through cycles. Usually there is no cause.

Mike, I'm the same as you in lack of depression, but it could just be smaller dips and highs. A smoother curve.. I get sad and down, but it is over quickly..

I think I'm more paranoid than depressed. I hate it with a passion. I guess it's because I never had to be depressed when I was a kid. I had everything I ever needed.

I grew up in the eighties too, and all I know is that growing up in the 80s makes you have a love of the Thundercats, He-Man, and the A-Team and a burning hatred down to the pit of your stomache of Barney the Purple Dinosaur and the Power Rangers (because they were a rip-off of the beloved Voltron). Whether this makes us more happy, I don't know, but I can however recite the theme of the original Tranformers cartoon from memory. :)
