Err... I don't know much, but I can help maybe a little.
US: Delta Force (Existence Officially Denied by Army), Navy SEALS, not sure if Rangers and Green Berets count. FBI's hostage rescue team might quallify.
GB: SAS.
Germany: GSG-9
France: GIGN
Russia: Spetsnaz.

You can consider an organization to be Special Forces if they serve under SOCOM. That Includes 75th Ranger Regiment, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, the Army Special Forces also known as the Green Berettes, Navy SEAL teams, Air Force Special Operations Command and a couple others.

Forward Anti-terrorist Strike Team. But rarely do they have the opportunity to do the job the name says.

Oh that's nothing.

I once posted on an Counterstrike forum once after playing a game, some mate I fought with gave me the URL and I went along. Anyway, I came across a thread going on about the best special forces in the world, I saw people arguing over SEALS, Delta, Spetsnaz, but no SAS.

When I finally asked the thread starter why they weren't included he actually replied "Who're the SAS?". I nearly choked on whatever I was eating at the time, needless to say I told him to Google it or ask anyone with any military knowledge that a 3 year old hasn't surpassed yet.

He did.

Know what he came back with?

The SAS.

I think after I finally came around, the forum had already self-destructed in a flurry of ignorance. One of life's little niceties.

I remember reading about the 148 Commando Forward Observation Battery, the 5 Airborne Brigade's Pathfinder Platoon, and the Germans have the Fernspah.

Nukes won't hurt them, they're pure stupidity!

Besides, I think the place died when the host used the RAID as a urinal and electrocuted himself.
