I didn't find the topic rational in the first place. And everyone else said what I wanted to say, so I said what had remained unsaid.Setzer wrote:Paper cuts? If you want to prove me irrational, don't use slippery slope tactics. I just wanted an honest opinion devoid of any hotheaded emotional tangents.
And the slippery slope is relevant here, though not to the extent that I portrayed, I admit. (I thought that much was obvious, but I guess not.) If we start killing people with AIDS, why not people with Ebola? Or why not people with HIV so that the disease couldn't be transmitted at all? And then when the next epidemic breaks out (SARS is a scary concept) why not blow all those people up, too?
Besides, if you were going to kill a mass number of people, you most certainly could NOT do it under the pretense of receiving medical treatment. That is totally unethical, immoral, inhumane, unhuman, and a whole bunch of other words that haven't been invented yet. They'd have to create a entire new wing of Hell just for the person who gave such a command.
