Oh, I also forgot about:

Navy Clearance Divers - effectively Aus Navies SBS equivalent.

And

Airforce Airbase Security - they aren't special forces, but there was once group of them that stole an entire SAS camp while on excercise. The SAS then retaliated.

Howedar wrote:To claim that any arbitrary special forces group is "best" is really not very accurate. All have their specialties. I wouldn't want to go up against the SEALs or SBS in an underwater demolition role, but I imagine any number of counter-terrorist teams are superior in that field.

Copy & paste them here if you want to get at least some sort of idea how they are pronounced.

Another British special/semi-special force is the Royal Marines' Commachio Group, originally formed to protect North Sea oil rigs from Spetznaz raiding in the event of a war in Europe. In recent years Commachio has been publicly connected to the nuclear security role - guarding the SSBN facility HMS Neptune at Faslane, and other facilities.

Norway:

Forsvarets Spesialkommando (Special Commando of the Defense)
Counterterrorist unit that trains for actions mainly against oil rigs, but are not limited to this activity. They also train for operations on airplanes, trains, and buildings. Other missions include protection of the royal family, the government and the national assembly.

“Stay Behind”
I'm not sure if this qualifies as a special force unit. It's a secret network intended to create a resistance movement in any Norwegian territory conquered by an enemy force. Nobody 'joins' the unit - it’s entirely by recruitment. Also, it doesn’t officially exist.

Marine Jegerne (Royal Marine commandos)
(not sure of the translation) Their primary missions are deep penetration reconnaissance and sabotage on enemy naval installations, and can be compared to the US Navy SEALs.

7th Jeger Company
This is a special guerrilla force whose mission is to stay behind enemy lines and disrupt their forces and operations.

Fallskjermjegerkommandoen (Airborne Rangers)
(again, not sure of the translation)

Friend of a friend is an RAAF Airbase Security Officer. During one excercise the SAS were tasked with "disabling" the airbase. So the RAAFies knew the SAS camp would be in the area. They stumbled across it and cleaned the place out, right down to the tentpegs. Nothing left at all apparently. The SAS, came back and upon finding an empty space where their camp was, decided to liberate the RAAF base of its high quality food, drink and other stuff.
