SW Tales Vol. 3

Post by Darth Fanboy »

Just bought this yesterday, some of the tales include

Darth Vader vs. Darth Maul (yes thats no typo)- Several Dark Side heretics uncover sith knowledge and resurrect Darth Maul so that the EMperor may have a "proper apprentice" who is untainted by the Light. It is a close fight with Maul nearly getting the Upper hand until Vader slays him. Maul ends the battle with, "What could you hate enough, to destroy me" and Vader responds with "Myself."

Interestingly Maul slays a few stormies as well...

The Heretics, which have lulled Vader into a trap by spreading rumors of stolen Death Star plans and rebel soldiers on planet. THe Emperor then kills these heretics with Force lightning after following Vader.

More stories:

Han SOlo teams up with Quinlan Vos (apparently he survives too), who erases Solos memory of the incident.

The last of the Jedi Padawans are attempting to Escape Vader when they are betrayed by a republic commander. Vader fights and defeats a Jedi who is buying time for the Padawans and convinces him to join the dark side in reunr for the Padawans escape. The JEdi agrees, Vader has the Padawans killed anyway, Jedi kills himself rather than live with the shame.

Vader vs. Boba Fett in a knock down brawl on Tatooine after Fett is hired by Tarkin to capture Han SOlo after Han SOlo deserts the Empire. IMHO Vader defeats Fett somewhat easily but not after Fett pulls out a few tricks, including a green lightsaber he claimed from a Jedi Target.

The story of the stormtrooper killed by Leia on the Tantive IV. Apparently he was planning on deserting after that mission and joining the rebellion until getting killed by a shot to the face.

The "real story" of how Boba Fett escaped the Sarlacc, it involves him screaming like a girl so Boba Fett fans may not like this one.

and more

Tales is great SW fun.

It scares me how much the TF.net-ers want it to be in-continuity though.

You never read the "Tag and Bink Are Dead" comics? You missed out. It was about these two idiot rebel troopers who end up sneaking onto the Death Star, while zany mishaps occur. Some very funny moments.

You might be able to. It came out over a year ago, and was only a two-issue thing. The Boba Fett thing happened in Star Wars Tales, so that shouldn't be hard to get a hold of.
