I've lived pretty close to Akron most of my life. I would expect something like this in Hicksville, Alabama or Asshole, Indiana but not Akron.

I'd say I agree with Gil and innerbrat. The child abuse was a consequence of ...maybe psychosis, maybe extreme stupidity. But at any rate, even though they didn't abuse the girl as much as the boys their behaviour doesn't seem consistent with well thought through militant mysandry (well thought out...? okay, for the sake of argument.). The girl claimed (in the original article) that she wasn't punished because she was "quiet and well mannered."

I think what's really sad about this case is the many many times that the girl's parents reported the couple to the authorities, only to be ordered to stop or face jail and the loss of their other children. Er, not that the actual child abuse isn't sad; I'm upset with the blatent failure of the system too is what I'm saying.

Well, still, I am not saying that "because they are lesbians, they became twisted and evil", I am saying that their evil was expressed through their mysandric hatred; a facet of their personal lesbianism. Not ALL lesbians (or lesbianism) express in this manner-- but it certainly shaped the content of the abuse.

And again, realize: I am saying that this is one facet among many facets of their behavior, not the sole motivating factor. This was psychosis expressed through their particular lens.

How about this: I recognize that Klansmen commit violence against blacks, and that one of many reasons Klansmen do this is because they are white and think that their whiteness gives them liscence to express their evil... but I also recognize that being white does not make others racist/Klansmen. The skin color is a facet of how/why the violence is manifested.
