Delivering of supplies is no problem to the ATJ ConglomoCorp. We seek to trade in the highly lucrative debt market, as natural resources are un-neccessary at this point and hard currency is rather spongy in a galactic situation.

Subj: Public Weapons Test
At approximately 1800 hours tomorrow, the Department of Military Research (DMR) will be conducting a test of a new weapons system scheduled to be deployed soon among all AY02 Gargantuan Robot forces.
- GC-mk3 Orb Cannon
An orb of solid antimatter is fired at a target at a sigificant portion of lightspeed. The KE of the cannon ball is sufficient to defeat many shields, or at least seriously injure them. If successful, it may still possess sufficient force to punch through many forms of armor before it is blasted apart by M/AM reaction within the enemy.
The location of the test will be at asteroid 2291BH, which we predict will be totally disrupted as the projectile rips into the target while simultaneously detonating.
We invite anyone interested in seeing this incredible spectacle to be present within 1 gigameter but no closer than 50,000 kilometers. Admission to see the event is only $15 NAU. Any attempting to sneak in will be dealt with by the military as secondary test targets.
The DMR is not responsible for any damage incurred due to proximity to this test. Arrive at your own risk. But we assure you totally that this risk is zero, as long as you remember to pay the admission fee.
Have a nice day.

Item 1:Missile gap
Analyses of rival/allied militaries reveal major gap in missile technology. Individual missiles are comparable, but refire rate and launcher count lag significantly. Solutions currently in development: (1)Smaller missiles for use in fighters and ship point defense (2)Faster autoloaders for main missiles (3)Improved magazine design allowing superior launcher distribution
...
Item 5: Interim solution for missile gap.
(See section 1) Modification developed allowing four modified SAM to launch from Chorister. Range and accuracy acceptable, but barely. Haste urged for next model fighter.
...
Item 17: Chorister II
Development proceeding well, thanks to added funding to missile project (see section 1). Heavy bolter mount to be removed to make room for targeting computer/sensors. Laser turret to be more accurate as side effect.
....
Item 23: Basinet class delayed.
In light of recent analyses, missile defense believed more important than anticipated. Design phase lengthened to account for added flank armor and point defense, including light missiles.

"Command decided that unarmed perimeter monitoring ships aren't much use, so they've ordered us to retrofit about 50 of them as 'torpedo boats'.

"As many as they can fit on."

We are interested in maintaining bases in two systems. I'm afraid our fleet is rather strected at this point. We after all maitain presences in several other systems plus patrols and conoys. Two fleet bases is all we ask for.
We would offer you basing arrangments similar to those we offered the Kokand Empire. Bases on either Hugnin or Mugnin in the Vahalla System and another in a system you chose.

The PIR navy supreme command has decided that one PIR fleet base shall be on the moon of Hugnin, and the other base in a system near the border of Asgard territory. You can send your fleet to PIR territory as soon as you are ready, and we will send our as soon as you approve it.

We accept the deal. We will be sending a half squadron (5) of battlecruisers and ten cruisers to each location. We'll be delivering gunboats and gorund forces to our instalations soon. The Hugnin, and the 4th planet (roughly Mars-like) of the Valgard system fit your requests? Would those be acceptable?

The door chime beeped. The King looked at the display.
"Come in, General Scopes."
The general strode into the office and went to one knee.
"That's not necessary, general. What do you have for me?"
"Upgrade recommendations, my Liege."
The king took the offered datapad. "Just call me sir." He looked at the long, wordy report. "Summarize it for me general."
"In light of the massive missile salvos used in the battle of Octavia, our analysts have recommended that we double the number of interceptors assigned to each carrier group, increase point defense, and implement improved spoofing technologies."
"Like what?"
"Two things, one for fighters and one for capships. Improved decoys, and an upgrade for our sensor ships. It allows them to project images of our ships across all sensors known to us. Won't fool missiles for long, but if used at the last second, it can make them think the ship's changed trajectory and the missile will veer to intercept."
"But the next scheduled upgrade is years away."
"This is just a software upgrade, sir. It can be completed in the field within the week. The interceptor/fighter rebalancing will take longer, but the supply transports are ready to bring interceptors and take back fighters. The change should be complete this month."
"And the decoys?"
"That can be done in less than 48 hours, sir."
The king nodded, and stamped his digital seal on the datapad. "Make it so, general."

As the enemy battleship began to disintegrate, the Redemptor directed it's attention to a pirate destroyer. Particle beams and missile salvos raked the ship from end to end, and, as the fleet advanced, the pirate vessel broke up, each end tumbling away from the other, venting atmosphere and debris into space.Darksider wrote: "Sir one of the OAN frigates has been hit" shouted an officer. As the OAN fleet took out the pirate destroyer, the KSN battlegroup closed to point blank range with the pirate raiders and surrounded them. It became a knock-down drag-out fight, all weapons were firing on the enemy, including point defense weapons. The pirates lost to many ships and began to withdraw from the combat zone. "Comms officer, contact the OAN ships and tell them to cut off the pirate's retreat"

"Sir! The KSN has ordered us to cut off the pirates' escape route!"
"Then that is what we shall do. All vessels, adjust course to intercept the remnants of the hostile fleet."
Almost as soon as the Admiral gave the order, the OAN ships moved in on the pirates, meeting desperate resistance from the outnumbered and outgunned enemy fleet. A few minutes' worth of weapon fire, and it was over.
"Lieutenant, open a channel to the KSN flagship." As the main display came online, the Admiral rose from his seat.

"Well sir, when you consider the weak armament of the Roman vessels, our overwhelming strength and the fact that the OU had already engaged and its not surprising it was a one sided rout. We only ran into trouble with the large number of ground batteries, and even those didn't last long with our massive supremacy. Mars simply wasn't that big of a Roman installation."
"Well, keep going over the data and what we hauled off those hulks and the surface installations. I under stand that we clear out the Romans before they could destroy very much, if any where left alive."
"Indeed, we've compromised their electronic warfare capability and a minor part of their encryption system. No doubt they'll change that however."
"Good, very good."
"So what exactly did we learn from this little fight?"

The DE R&D division has recently begun tests for new anti-matter and plasma bolt weapons, and has approved plans to construct a destroyer, capable of bringing these weapons into battle against the pirates that still plague DE shipping lanes.
On a related note, all DE offensive fleets will be put to the task of destroying pirate bases in DE space.

A squadron of small, nimble fighters soared through the blackness of space. Alpha Leader was nodding off as he let the automated computer routine fly his ship for him. He was awakened by a shrill whistle and a yellow dot on his sensors. "Ayone else see an unidentified contact?"
"Affirmative, sir."
He flicked his comms over to general broadcast. "This is Lieutenant John Sweeney of the United Pirate Kingdom Navy. You are showing as an unidentified contact on our grids. Identify yourselves, and state your cargo and destination."
By now, his optical sensors had focused on the distant group of armed freighters. They were a motely collection, some ships reminiscent of DE space, others OU.
Sweeney swore. "Dammit, don't tell me they chased pirates out of their own space and into ours."
When no reply seemed forthcoming and the freighters began powering up weapons, it seemed obvious that Sweeney's guess was correct. "This is Lieutenant John Sweeney, we have a code red situation in sector 20-12. Immediate backup requested."
Backup was indeed immediate. Within seconds, frigates and destroyers jumped into the vicinity and opened fire without hesitation. The pirate fighters at the forefront of the charge were shredded by light particle beams and point-defense lasers, just as the freighters themselves were decimated by medium and heavy particle beams from the destroyers.
Just as the remaining freighters were powering up their hyperdrives, the carrier, cruisers, and sensor ships jumped in. The first sensor ship projected an interdiction field, while the second filled all enemy sensors with high-powered jamming and cut through the pirates' feeble attempts to do likewise like a hot knife through butter.
Within seconds, only the largest pirate capship, identified on sensors as being over 500 meters in length, was still operational. Seeing this as an opertunity to test the big guns against a non-UPK warship, the admiral of the 7th carrier group recalled fighters and ordered the cruisers to target the ship with their superguns. He waited patiently as the bracing, recoil absorption, and support systems were powered up, and the massive barrels on the underside of the cruisers glowed in readiness. A titanic shell was loaded, and accelerated at an impossible rate.
Two shots were not even necessary, as the first shell hit the pirate cruiser with the force of an angry asteroid and blew the ship into hundreds of pieces, the largest groups drifting away from the point of impact. The second shell didn't even find enough material left to change its velocity, and sailed through the cloud of vapor into the depths of space.
Admiral Kinneson smiled a brief smile, and looked to the comms officer. "Get me the King on a secure line."

King Dagnar closed the comm channel after the admiralk had said his piece. He had heard many such reports. After years spent finally chasing their own raider menace away, other empires' pirates were fleeing to their space. Perhaps they thought they would be welcome here, given the name of his kingdom. He intended to show them how wrong they were. As of now, eliminating these vermin was the first priority of all carrier groups.

The underwater Minmatar farming colony off the coast of Fiji's main island is now for sale. The Minmatar Stock Exchange has reported record earnings as a result of both the ITA and the news that Minmatar based multi-nationals would be allowed to trade within NRE territory. To maintain the high currency value the Minmatar are moving away from agricultural endevours and is now focusing on the technology market.
