This is after two false starts, one in computer science and the other in (of all things) music. I quit music and went back to computers because, frankly, music (a) isn't that much of a challenge, and (b) pays roughly shit.

Well, the board's been up for 10 and a half months (Around 320 days or something), and we have almost 500,000 posts, so I'd say around 1000-2000 posts a day, perhaps closer to 2000 as we've been getting more active.

Technically, the 500,000th post has already come and gone. You can see it here. However, since nearly twenty thousand posts have been deleted over this board's life, our total postcount has not yet achieved 500,000 even though 500,000 posts have been made at one time or another.

In order to figure out who has the 500,000th post without including deleted posts, I will have to wait until we hit 500,000, then subtract the current postcount from the post id in order to determine which post id is #500,000.

Well, there's only 1314 posts to go. I'd say we'd be there by tomorrow.

As for one million, considering it took us 11 months and three weeks to get to 500,000, and the board is getting more active, I guess we'll reach a million sometime in March 2004, perhaps earlier if things really pick up.

So there's a VERY good chance I could get the 500,000th according to the postcount displayed on the front page.
