Wow, you have no internal monologue, do you? It's like the moment a thought is generated you type it. :x

OK, I might get lynched by my fellow sisters here, but HAHAHAHAHAHA! I haven't had a period for two years!

But back in the day, it never stopped me and Rob - he just never put his face anywhere near it (which is fair enough).
Hell, I'm not about to let a bit of blood spoil my fun.

innerbrat, how did you manage that? Are you some sort of super-evolved homo sapien that has mutated past the need for the period? Or do you just never take the sugar pills in your birth control?

Rebecca tells me that she's horny and wants to get nasty tonight. Good things are about to happen. I'm getting all excited with anticipation. And then, BOOM! That "time of the month" arrives.

AAAARRRRGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Now I have to wait nearly a week! Why must that be necessary? Wouldn't it be nice if women could turn that on and off when they wanted to?

No, I'm on Depo - had to be taken off the pill as I get stress related migraines.

Sugar pills? Are they for women who can't count to 7?

My mother, my sister, and my then-girlfriend all had theirs simultaneously one horrible, horrible weekend. I ended up hiding in the basement watching hockey for two days.

innerbrat, I envy you....

I get horny as hell during that time, but intercourse is NOT comfortable then.

And frankly, I wish we didn't have periods to begin with. I so want to get fixed, but unfortunately, that doesn't stop it.

It sucks and I tend to avoid stepping out of my room when even one of the girls on my corridor has PMS (I share a corridor with 1 other boy and 5 other girls). If all of them had it at the same time, I would envy the dead.

Guys do get an equivalent of PMS too though, not as bad as what women go through and without the whole bleeding-for-several-days-and-not-dying thing, but monthly there are times when levels of testosterone go down and you may feel less like being horny (no, I never get that either) and less able to be happy or do stuff.

Maybe you could engineer women of the future to turn this nasty thing off if they don't want kids. :D

don't they have hormone treatments now that make it so you only get 4 periods a year? i thought they did.

Artificial manipulation of hormone levels strikes me as an idea with potentially serious long-term side effects. If nothing else, it must put considerable strain on your liver and kidneys, as many steroid-using athletes have discovered to their chagrin over the years.

EDIT: just FYI, the birth-control pill messes up women more than its manufacturer would like you to know. If you actually take a close look at the fine print that comes with the birth control pill, the list of known side-effects is long and disturbing.

Messing with metabolic processes and general tinkering with hormones can be dangerous if you have no idea what you're doing, just as bad as a drug overdose, using too much of a hormome or too little can lead to interesting effects.

However, like I said, if we could engineer an ability to switch off menstruation when it isn't needed then problem solved, don't ask me how we could do that though, I'd need to dig up my Cellular Comms. notes and they're at least a metre from me.

My g/f has cysts on her ovaries meaning it will be very difficult for her to get pregnant when she wants to - and because of this she doesn't have her "time of month" but once every 6 months....

Look on the bright side: when her period is over, the sex will be all that much better, having waited almost a week for it.

From what I've seen and heard that statement is about the only thing most women would agree on.

Women get so shafted when it comes to their genitalia and related processes. Their only bonus would be the multiorgasam thing, but even then I'd doubt that really makes up for the agony, bleeding ect...
