*sigh* Another tiresome favourite thread (soundtracks)
Having been sitting in this vaguely comfortable uni chair for the past 40 minutes reading posts and listening to a couple of film soundtracks, I thought I might as well enquire...
Your favourite sound tracks, please...
Currently I'm running on:
1) The Good, The Bad and the Ugly - simply for being a good film with a really fitting soundtrack.
2) The Italian Job - just because...
3) The Two Towers - far better than the first one in my opinion, suitably epic for the battles involved (although my only note of criticism is that it is slightly over epic in terms of the novel, but spot-on for the film.

Now listening Matrix Reloaded (too much hiprock for my tastes) and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (Yoko Kanno, awesome).
In my talons, I shape clay, crafting life forms as I please. If I wish, I can smash it all. Around me is a burgeoning empire of steel. From my throne room, lines of power careen into the skies of Earth. My whims will become lightning bolts that raze the mounds of humanity. Out of chaos, they will run and whimper, praying for me to end their tedious anarchy. I am drunk with this vision. God: the title suits me well.

Gladiator. Put it on your Discman, walk around campus with big strides and good posture, and you can pretend you're Maximus.
Any city gets what it admires, will pay for, and, ultimately, deserves…We want and deserve tin-can architecture in a tinhorn culture. I liked the FOTR soundtrack, it's great to read the book to. Though my favorite was The Matrix.

I like the main theme of Boondock Saints. It's just very upbeat with a hint of pathos.

House of 1000 Corpses soundtrack is my current fave, but that may soon be usurped by the Matrix Reloaded soundtrack. We shall see.

Nothing like getting down to "The Monster Zero March"
(FOTR and Gladiator are on my wish list. I also enjoy most of John William's works and the occasional "New World Symphony" or "Appalacian(sp) Spring")

Not really a soundtrack but, right now i'm listening to the music from the Halo 2 trailer. I'm also looking for a place to download SW (OT) music (I can't find any soundtracks....anywhere, i don't think they make 'em anymore

My favourites are:
Conan the Barbarian, Sleepy Hollow, Highlander, Flash Gordon (yep, the score by Queen!), The Wall (it's Pink Floyd, what's not to like about it?) and, of course, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

Nothing wrong with the Moulin Rouge soundtrack, my mates tend to snigger at me when I say I didnt think the film was terrible, I thought it was rather fun, although I admit I'm not a very discerning film goer...

Well, it's typically called a "gay guy's" film.. And the song "Come What May" has been dedicated to myself, so it's a very special soundtrack. Although, I have yet to see the movie (yet I have the soundtrack). The me being honest part came from "The Lion King" and "Mulan" soundtracks...The_Lumberjack wrote:Nothing wrong with the Moulin Rouge soundtrack, my mates tend to snigger at me when I say I didnt think the film was terrible, I thought it was rather fun, although I admit I'm not a very discerning film goer...

Another one I like: The Last of the Mohicans and The Scorpion King (to give you a tatse of exactly how eclectic my taste in music is. Of course, lest we forget, the mighty Star Wars soundtrack!!
The only reason I don't particularly like The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is partly because I haven't seen it, and partly because the music is *extremely* difficult to play.. Well, it WAS, in ninth grade..

Well, of course there's Cowboy Bebop (everything on both the series and movie soundtracks is pure gold), Ben-Hur, Gladiator, the Godfather, everything in the SW musical canon (except for Jedi Rocks), Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, and Xenosaga (has some seriously epic moments).
BoTM / JL / MM / HAB / VRWC / Horseman
I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.
I'm surprised nobody's mentioned any of the Tarantino film's soundtracks yet they always have some great tracks on them.
Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction
Matrix
Spawn (great fight/kill everything music)
and of course anything by Ennio Morricone (Good the bad the ugly etc) or John Williams (Star Wars + more than I can remember)
