Well, I'd personally have to say that in spite of the smaller number of concerts I've seen, there are three that stick out in my mind:

1. Soulive. Outside. Absolutely free. Sunny spring day. I swear, it was some of the most intense energy I've felt! I saw people that appeared to be from all walks of life out there dancin and groovin to their music. It was so great!

2. Blind Guardian: The atmosphere of this concert was rather amazing. First off, the fans there were a very dedicated group. At points the show was a gigantic sing-along! You could feel the energy in the air.

3. The Jinga Trio: This is actually one of my drum teacher's groups, but I am not biased in saying that it is really something to hear and see. Three outstanding musicians in the Regattabar (a Cambridge MA jazz club) playing their own breed of latin/jazz. My jaw dropped SO many times during that show!

I saw Kathy Mattea about 10 years ago in concert at a hotel over in Owensboro.

For me, it was the best because of the intimate atmosphere that a small auditorium gives to a concert.

Close seating at a table with a waitress to bring drinks, excellent music (if you like Country), a really good sound setup, and the fact she hung around after the show to chat and sign autographs added up to a really enjoyable concert well worth the $20 it cost to get in.
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."- General Sir Charles Napier
