I don't feel sorry for Mark Hamill; so he's not a big movie star, who cares? He held the lead in three of the best movies of all time and makes a comfortable living doing something that he enjoys today. I hate how people bash him (and I'm not accusing anyone here).

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

I've saw a couple of other movies Mark Hamil was in. They weren't bad. The problem is he will always be Luke Skywalker to too many people. When your one of the major players in a the greatest trilogy every made it's hard to not be type cast. With the exception of Harrison Ford very few of the others in the main cast went on to do other things in acting.

No one would. But it is a great mark of respect that he is remembered by so many fans. Being in such a production as Star Wars is a double edged sword. You'll be forever Luke Skywalker/Han Solo etc, but if you throw a hissy fit over it your ungrateful and pissing on the fans.

I think he now makes a living mostly doing voice work where being Luke Skywalker isn't as much of a problem . I know that he did voice work for Soldier of Fortune 2 and that he played the Joker in the Batman cartoons.

I doubt Mark Hamil has a problem with people identifying him as Luke. Not only is he very polite to his fans (at least from what I've read), but he did a Star Warish bit in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (along with Carrie Fisher...) where he had a lightsaber battle.
Doesn't sound bitter at all.
A little Off-Topic, who I do feel for is Patrick Stuart. This guy has people dressed as SF officers attending the plays he does on stage! Poor fellow; rude sci-fi stalkers...

Up to WC 4 IIRC.phongn wrote:He also did the Wing Commander games
Didn't Carrie Fisher also write the book and subsequent movie, "Postcards from the Edge" chronicling her drug addiction problems?

Actually, humans have a fairly long life-span in SW anyways, so it's possible that they simply don't age that much.Illuminatus Primus wrote:Actually NJO Luke and Mara don't look too bad at all.meNNis wrote:Now imagine him holding a lightsabre as he decapitates a Vong warrior, and you've got an image of what the NJO Luke looks like

True. In SW, Luke is just starting to hit his middle-age spread. IIRC he looks kinda like Hamil did in WC. And, one must bear in mind the Luke Skywalker and Mark Hamil aren't quite the same person. It could be that Luke has the genes and conditions which would have him age much better than Mark Hamil did.phongn wrote:Actually, humans have a fairly long life-span in SW anyways, so it's possible that they simply don't age that much.Illuminatus Primus wrote:Actually NJO Luke and Mara don't look too bad at all.meNNis wrote:Now imagine him holding a lightsabre as he decapitates a Vong warrior, and you've got an image of what the NJO Luke looks like :P  :P
