I've read Traitor, but I don't think he's substantially different from the start of the book, yet. He still has his moral and ethical qualms about everything, and the book didn't advance the plot of the NJO at all. At best it developed a single character at the expense of the whole.

I agree; I loved Traitor and was disappointed to see that in DW Jacen really hadn't changed much (if anything, he was even more of a pussy).

Wheee, just finished Force Heretic II: Refugee.... interesting twist at end... (SPOILER)I figured ooglith masquers could take just about any form the size of or bigger than the wearer, but I didn't think the Yuuzhan Vong could emulate the Ssi-Ruuk speach patterns... kinda made all the build-up useless, but fun at teh same time....

Oh, I think Tahiri and Jag Fel need to die/disappear/whatever... I just don't like the Jag+Jaina thing, and I agree with most of the previous abou t Tahiri....

Yeah I was wondering if the Vong took over the Siss-ruuk or what. The P'w'wecks seem to think otherwise. Did the Vong create that mutant?

I'm just amazed that Jacen was not executed for treason after the Centerpoint incident. Because of that he is indirectly responsible for more deaths than palpatine, and people consider him to be a hero....wtf.

What the fuck is with Jacen. What's worse is how they've handled the continuity. I mean, hell, I can see shit not meshing with earlier more 'random' EU books. However, and this was in the Insider interview, the NJO WAS developed and PLANNED. So why the fuck is Jacen still alive and Anakin is dead? The craziest things are as follows. There is the prophecy (yes, another god damned prophecy. I would say be original, but they already have been and we got the NJO.). EVERYTHING was pointing towards Anakin. He was bad ass, he could whip the shit out of Jacen, he was the Jedi the Jedi needed in the face of the Vong. How so? Look at Jacen and Kyp. Both are just fucked up royally characters. Anakin seems to be a somewhat mix of the two. Anakin is agressive and will fight fire with fire. Yet he follows Luke and Mara's direction. He is LEVEL HEADED (if you can say that about any teenage Jedi). Instead of still having Anakin, we still have Kyp whose just shitty (Thanks goes out to KJA) and Jacen (wow he sucks). Here's real the real problems are going. Jacen throughout Traitor seems to realize and accept what Vergere is telling him. He manages to kick the shit out of everyone. Then he manages to royally fuck over Coruscant. Yet by the next few books we's a weak ass pussy that has to cling on to Vergere. That's another matter all together. Vergere could have been the ULTIMATE link between the past and the present in the EU. NOOOOOOO. They go and kill her. I will say this, in FH1 Jacen seems to be a little better. Not much, but a little. Oh well. I do like the Jaina/Jag ordeal. It's that spice that the series needs. The diversion of romance in the midst of war. That is something found in the Prequels and the Original trilogy. So, it seems to be familiar. Only difference, the female is the hot headed one and the male is the cool and responsible one. I think the handling of the Jedi has been absolutely horrid though. This is another drop the ball thing. Like Vergere, like Anakin, this was the best chance of getting things back in order. The Jedi could have become the great protectors. Now they are just dwindling mice scurrying for cover. Tahiri, hmm, seems I missed something here. A bad character suddenly turned into a great character and then just fucking dropped. Oh well.

I guess they could always bring Anakin back. As it is that is the ONLY thing that could get me to even look at this series again.

Jacen needs to die. When you're responsible for more innocent deaths than fucking palpatine there is a problem.

If they were to resurrect Anakin through the Force, it would actually establish a very interesting symbollic situation, further connecting the NJO with the OT, thematically. I've been pondering the implications for a little while, now, and I think that it could work if it were done properly, creating an extremely interesting scenario. If it were to play out as I see it (read: the strongest scenario I can see), then Jacen would have to die for his actions at Centerpoint, further cementing the impact of karma/consequences/whatever-you-want-to-call it within the SW saga, and would add to my interest within the series.

If they were to ressurect Anakin in any manner, it would be the biggest lame-o piece of crap writing in a very long time
It was a huge waste to build his character up well, then kill him off , for no other reason really than they forgot about another Anakin -- you know, the REAL one? Seems that Anakin brings the chosen one to mind, not one of the Solos. Oh well, shame, but I suppose Jacen will resolve things one way or the other - it'll all be over in 6 months.

You have DOOMED us all Stravo. I swear. I can see it all. Jacen dies in the name of the Force and for peace and being a pussy, but in doing this, somehow Anakin's life force enters and he comes back a la' Children of the Jedi. Upon this, to further explain why Callista could not use the Force the way she used to, Anakin will be able to manipulate things Vong style. This would fulfill a number of actions EU wise. First off, that recurring theme of resurection with Force users. Second it explains Callista as already stated. third, Anakin was artificially (lambient bitch, get some) connected to the Vong, however Jacen has seen the Vong. OOoh. Not only that, but he manages to pilot a starfighter into the heart of the remaining Worldship, blasts, it and meraculously races back up as it explodes taking Shimrrarararararararaara with it, and then the galaxy along with the Vong live happily ever after, until the officials come up with some new bull shit.
