Marines ffrom Aliens Vs Borg.

Post by 2000AD »

If the aliens in Aliens were replaced by Borg would the Marines job be any more (or less) difficult?

It think not. The only problem the marines would have would be that the Borg use ranged weapons and the aliens didn't. I personally think that the marines would kick serious Borg ass, mainly because they use projectile (Pulse rifles,Smart guns), flame and explosive weapons and not energy weapons that the borg can adapt to.

Only the rogue borg used ranged weapons, the rest just clomp in a distinctly unspeedy fashion.

One smartgunner could annihilate the entire collective with ease (given enough ammo). In his sleep (Smartguns aim themselves, all you need do is pull the trigger)

No. Regardless of what Darkling and DarkStar think, the truth of the matter is that Borg drones do not have KE shielding.

The Borg are far to stupid to destroy the drop ship, so ammunition is not an issue, and that’s the only limit to have many Borg the marines kill.

The Marines would wipe out most of the Borg in the first encounter, and then kill the rest later. No drop ship crash means they can shut down the reactor and don’t need to work about future incursions blowing it up.

Colonial Marines would slaughter the Borg. The Borg would also be defeated by modern marines, boyscouts with slingshots, and housewives with frying pans and PMS.
The most basic assumption about the world is that it does not contradict itself.

Heck how many people would feel safe taking on five drones by themselves with either a broad-sword or a Katana or heck even a baseball bat

I sure would, course I'd also take them on with a modified nail gun while dragging 300 pounds of air compressor and generator behind me on a sled.
