indeed, youd prolly get caught. that line of them replacing the dust on the journal was rather impressive.

but, is it to be assumed that everyone in that entire world has done something wrong?

It is assumed that everyone potentially will do something wrong.

Really? I thought at the end it was the guy being left alone in a "Lady or the Tiger" situation.. an open ending.. I don't remember anything happening to them..

But in that case, we may as well bring in Ayn Rand's "Anthem" to this whole thing..

Why didn't anyone pick Fahrenheit 451? It is definately better than 1984.

Because personally I would rather kill myself than not have books.

Never read Brave New World or seen/read Clockwork Orange

Fahrenheit 451? Hell no. I could never live in such a superficial world.

1984? No. I'd be dead by now.

So, probably, the Giver. I wouldn't have any other choice other than to conform, and I wouldn't be in any terrible danger, if I manage to evade the eugenics bit.

Not surprising given the rating. I've met just one person who actually read the book my self.

In 1984 you might be killed for a thought crime, and then your family would be forced to believe that you never existed.

whether you are Inner Party, Outer Party or prole
Just a minor nitpick, but didn't the party largely ignore the proles because they were ground into submissive acceptance by their economic conditions?

Personally, I voted for Brave New World. I'm not much of a philosopher, so I probably wouldn't notice anything wrong if I was on the inside - and mindless happiness seems better than torture.

Geez, it's like asking how you want to be executed.

But it reminded me to hurry and finish Rainbow Six so I can read 1984 again and watch A Clockwork Orange. :)

Meh, I'd say "Brave New World". You look young until what...sixty? You can fuck around as much as you want. You can be drugged out your mind and no one cares. Doesn't sound all that bad really....course it's not perfect, but better than most of the others.

1984, if a prole you could live a long time. But I'd rather serve in the army. Considering their is actually a real war.

Being a prole in 1984 wouldn't be too horrible, compared to some of the alternatives. But I'd be dead already as a Party member--dead, or a broken, defeated husk who loves Big Brother and is just waiting for the bullet.

I dunno. The proles seem to attract rocket bombs pretty good.
