The one on the right. Upon further inspection this Dave Hart must die for smiling oddly with washed out actors.

I don't feel sorry for Mark Hamill; so he's not a big movie star, who cares? He held the lead in three of the best movies of all time and makes a comfortable living doing something that he enjoys today. I hate how people bash him (and I'm not accusing anyone here).

I've saw a couple of other movies Mark Hamil was in. They weren't bad. The problem is he will always be Luke Skywalker to too many people. When your one of the major players in a the greatest trilogy every made it's hard to not be type cast. With the exception of Harrison Ford very few of the others in the main cast went on to do other things in acting.

I don't think he really likes being characterized by a character he played 20 years ago.

He has done a fair amounts of stuff since then.

No one would. But it is a great mark of respect that he is remembered by so many fans. Being in such a production as Star Wars is a double edged sword. You'll be forever Luke Skywalker/Han Solo etc, but if you throw a hissy fit over it your ungrateful and pissing on the fans.

I don't think it affects Harrison Ford as much. He'll be remember as Han, as Indy, and other characters.

I think he now makes a living mostly doing voice work where being Luke Skywalker isn't as much of a problem . I know that he did voice work for Soldier of Fortune 2 and that he played the Joker in the Batman cartoons.

I like the guy, his other work is good quality, and his voice acting in particular is brilliant, the animated Joker defined the villain for me.

IIRC he also does Wolverine in that new computer game.

Is doing voice acting his main job now?

Actually NJO Luke and Mara don't look too bad at all.

I doubt Mark Hamil has a problem with people identifying him as Luke. Not only is he very polite to his fans (at least from what I've read), but he did a Star Warish bit in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (along with Carrie Fisher...) where he had a lightsaber battle.

Doesn't sound bitter at all.

A little Off-Topic, who I do feel for is Patrick Stuart. This guy has people dressed as SF officers attending the plays he does on stage! Poor fellow; rude sci-fi stalkers...

Up to WC 4 IIRC.

Didn't Carrie Fisher also write the book and subsequent movie, "Postcards from the Edge" chronicling her drug addiction problems?

I know she cameoed in the first Austin Powers.

Mark Hamil has aged fairly well.

Carrie Fisher tried to kill the Blues Brothers with a flame thrower and a rocket launcher, and other deadly gadgets ;)

Actually, humans have a fairly long life-span in SW anyways, so it's possible that they simply don't age that much.

Carrie Fisher also did a bit in the 1997 computer detective game Under A Killing Moon.

Hamil's part in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was HILARIOUS.

Unlike Harrison Ford, Mark Hamil made peace with being Luke Skywalker decades ago, and now enjoys it. He loves the fans, and is not above making jokes about it, ala JaSBSB. He does a few convention spots every year, and is know for being one of the more gracious geekdom 'stars'.

True. In SW, Luke is just starting to hit his middle-age spread. IIRC he looks kinda like Hamil did in WC. And, one must bear in mind the Luke Skywalker and Mark Hamil aren't quite the same person. It could be that Luke has the genes and conditions which would have him age much better than Mark Hamil did.
