Well, I discovered rather quickly shaving was a rather time consuming, all out bitch of a practice, so I did the most logical thing and grew a beard! Of course, I still had to shave my neck and keep it straight, but it was pretty low maintainance. Just trim it with a beard trimmer (Norelco, mind you) one to two times a week and I was gold! More recently, I trimmed it back to a beard minus sideburns, so I have to shave my cheeks ever few days. The big thing I do is 1. Wet the area I'm going to shave with hot water and use hot water when rinsing the razor. 2. Use a Mach-3. You wonder why this is one of the most shoplifted items right now.... 4. Avoid having to do 20 billion strokes in one area by getting it done in two to three. 4. Use Witchhazel after shaving. This helps any irritations you may have picked up while shaving.

I use one of these to shave.

The blade is hollow ground and has a remarkably thin edge, and I've sharpened it to the point where hair gets popped off on contact. Shaves quite comfortably, and unlike safety razors it doesn't catch on my skin and cut me, safety razors my ass. Shaves nice & close, but takes a bit of skill and guts to use.

Say, do you want it to be a threesome with your wife? Or a foursome with your wife and sister-in-law? I'm up for either. :P

I'm going to get a good-quality, straight, non-safety razor one of these days soon. My body hair (all of it, and there's a lot! GRR!) grows like a fucking weed, and safety razors just clog up before I'm halfway through shaving, plus I get cuts from them all the time. I've used an a electric razor (a triple-rotating-blade Philips) and it's been good enough. The one good thing about that is that I need to really put effort into getting razorburn or screwing up my skin if shaving unmoisturized, because it heals quickly. Lucky me in that respect. I've also got overactive grease glands (or whatever the hell the proper term is) so my skin is very rarely all dry. That's about the only benefit from that, otherwise it's annoying as hell, just like the constant need to shave.

Normally I'd agree with you there but I'm going to have to start shaving every day when I start work

D'oh :banghead:
Eh, I work, I don't, I shave every other or every third day, getting that whole bad-ass look :D

Same with me!

I have to shave daily. The Mach 3 is ideal and I can finish the process in a minute.

It doesn't matter before or after shower. Use shaving balm instead of after shave and your skin will be like a little baby's.

Another reason for me to use electric - I wear myself a goatee, so it's a bit easier to use electric rather than razor. Besides, I have to find shaving cream for really sensitive skin, because for whatever reason, even aloe shaving creams tend to irritate my skin. But if I MUST use a razor, I generally use Bic disposables and I think it's Gel brand shaving gel.
