The Empire vs. The Third Reich

Post by John Clark »

Atmosphere-limited combat (land, sea and air) only.

First question is, would they even be able to tell each other's commanders apart?

Empire easily of course.

And the answer would be yes, Imperial officers don't speak German :)

Oh, you're so funny. Did anybody ever tell you that?

Fun, but not much of a contest.

No, Imperial officers don't speak German, that's true... they sound like Brits.

Since both were/would be victorious, I guess this counts for both.

Empire walks a win.

It's one of those laws of hollywood that any English person must by definition be a cockney OR belong to the upper class. Any bad guy must BY DEFINITION have an upper class English accent, even in a Galaxy where Earth and it's cultural differences don't exist.

Do we just sound more evil or something?

I take this positive, since sounding evil is always a good thing when working for the Empire  .

Everyone is of the opinion that the germans would lose so:

Replace the german 88s with catapults

Replace the german machine guns with slingshots.

Replace the machine pistols with spears and axes.

Replace their helmets with little fuzzy-bear-outfits

.... does that even the odds???

But seriously: How about the battle of endor, replacing the Ewok army at endor with a German armoured division.

Not fair. That was an underarmed group. Only 1 AT-AT, a couple AT-STs, Stormies only hand carbines, and Scouts had HAND GUNS!

I thought it was a entire "legion" (5500 troops) of the emperor's best soldiers + AT-At + AT-STs, vs. one shuttlecraft of rebel troops + one tribe of ewoks? They (the imperials) should have kicked buttox.

But we didn't see the entire legion during the battle, or the AT-AT. Not surprising, since that was at the back door, and the Rebels clearly didn't know about it.

Didn't anyone ever notice Imperial uniforms (especially the hats) aren't like the German WWII uniforms, but like the Japanese WWII uniforms? And on Endor, an entire legion wouldn't be in only one part of the planet, it would be spread out. Plus, if Chewie hadn't hijacked that AT-ST, the battle would have been lost. They wouldn't have been able to stop them or trick the base commander to send reinforcements to clean up the retreating Rebels and Ewoks. The traps worked, but there weren't as many as there were AT-STs. There would have been two left. The one Chewie blew up and the one he hijacked. And that AT-AT would have came around sooner or later. But overall, that was a disgrace. lol

i feel that the german army could fight the empire. bullets can be just as effective as a Blasters. now if we leave Hitler in charge though the Gremans might still lose.

Bullets
makes a hole and causes death

Blasters
burns a hole and causes death

now stormtrooper armor will provide protection to them from the bullets but a 60 cal machine gun could theoretically go throught the armor since it goes through 6 in metal plate

Yes the Teddy bears who had home Turf Advantage, Time to set up traps and a wookie who took out 1/4 of there Armor. Had the AT-AT showed up no way they would have won, Or had the other At-ST not been capture they would have had thier little teady bear rears handed to them

The fact you speak of a battle where 1/3 of the troops where using handguns and where outnumbered speaks for itself

Yes the Teddy bears who had home Turf Advantage,

And yet the Feds, you contend, somehow do NOT? Was Imperial Hyperdrive SLOWER at Endor? Were their troops LESS NUMEROUS? Were their weapons LESS POWERFUL? (Bear in mind, pardon the pun, that all the Ewoks had at their disposal was natural weaponry -- logs, sticks, rocks, things found in your average forest). Was the speed and numerical superiority factor somehow NOT in play in that battle?
