This explanation is acceptable. However the travel advisory still stands.

Recent reports indicate that O'neil used the fusion cannon against the Khokand empire to incite hostillities and gain power over the entire KSE. He had several supporters who helped him secure funds and redesign the fusion cannon (It was intended as a 1.5 GT anti-capship weapon) Into a weapon of mass destuction. All of his supportes that were incriminated in his personal files have fled and there is a massive manhunt for these individuals we would appreciat any assistance in seeing that justice ir proporly meted out to these individuals who badly deserve it. BROADCAST FROM ROME

In an emergency address last night the Emperor reaffirmed Rome's stance of neutrality shortly before reports of a negotiated peace reached the capitol. The Senate and the Assembly unanimously voted their thanks to both the Floater Republics and the Kokand Empire for resolving the situation without further loss of life.

The high-alert status of Astralegios I has been stepped down and Roman forces on Earth have been demobilized.

In other news, construction of Astralegios II is expectedto begin shortly. Pundits say this construction will be proceeding at a slower rate. The Lupi fleet is currently being refitted at the Hegemony shipyards, and after it is complete there are plans to begin production of unspecificied fighter craft for attachment to Astralegios I and Astralegios II...

You made no mention of such an excessive yeild or that you intended to fire it against the surface rather then an orbital range target. That is why there where space ranges. The world is being terraformed and is covered in rather important instramentation to support training ops.

We need no equipment assistance. You have set progress our terraforming of this world back a considerable period. Stripping and scrapping your hulk will cover some additional costs. But we are greatly concerned by your inability to control your commanders while mounting WMD on your warships. We now demand 95 billion Kokand currency units worth of reparations.

The Admiral was not among the few survivors of your late battleship. The shock of the vessel being blown in two proved rather fatal for the crew with only a few hundred picked up in poor condition.

The KSN transport vessel Deliverance reverted to realspace on the outskirts of the Kokand system and began moving tward Kokand itself. "Lieutennant contact the kokand and tell them we're inbound with their reparations." "Yes sir." the transport continued inward on it's run twards Kokand. "Hey charlie, why do you think O'neil pulled a stunt like that at the ICDEX?" "I have no idea Harrasu, apparently he thought a war would win him more influence with the emperor and the senate." "Hey charlie we've got a contact on sensors, it's unidentified and it's closing fast, getting an energy spike.... It's charging weapons." "Raise shields charge weapons and radio the Kokand for assistance" The unknown vessel opened fire on the Deliverance but the flight officer was able to evade the heavy weapons fire. The transport returned fire as se desperatly ran twards the relative safety of Kokand

The Red Dawn dropped out of hyperspace near the Krytos vessel.
Since the end of the crisis the PIR fleet had left Kokand space but been nearby in neutral space on high alert.

"Locked on attacking vessel. Cuiser-sized, shields estimated at well under 1 gigaton. Class unknown. At least it's definetely not one of ours or of our allies."
"Weapons, prepare to fire heavy torpedoes and missile and beam arrays."
"Strength of salvo necessary for destruction of the vessel has been estimated."
"Fire at will!"
The Red Dawn fired at the cruiser. The huge torpedo struck first, delivering 500 megatons and causing the shield generators to overload.
After that, the multi-megaton missiles slammed into the hull, leaving huge burning craters where they struck. One missile penetrated into the main reactor compartment and blew the ship in two parts. Shortly afterwards the rear part disintegrated, leaving the front part dead in space.

"Prepare the marines to board that hulk. And inform the Kokand authorities and the other NBA members."

An unknown vessel attacked the KSN transport which was carrying the money to the Kokand's territory. Since we were near, we attacked destroyed the vessel. Origin is unknown. Possibly floaters.

Our analysis of your press release concerning the pirate vessel proves it was no Floater ship- we don't have shielded warships.

The vessel was most likely a non-affiliated pirate vessel. We've had alot of them attacking our transports as of late. 95 billion Kokand currency units is alot of money they probably thought they could jump the transport and get away. Our thanks go out to the PIR without their timly assistance our crewmen would have died.

There's been a flurry of news from the Imperial Palace. The top story is the severing of diplomatic ties with the Floater Republics. All ambasssadors and enovys have been recalled and trade halted. The Trade Ministry and the Foriegn Office demand double cost payment for recently delivered sheilding system since the abrogation of the orginal defense and non-agression pacts. Claims for payment will be taken before the ITA soon if the matter is not resolved.

The Imperial Palace also resoundingly condemned the Floaters recent agressive actions:

"The Asgard regret that the Floater's much vaunted morality turned out to be nothing more than idle talk and that they would jump in bed with a bunch of lunatics hell bent on plunging know space into a war. That is a very disappointing and disturbing sign for the future. We hope that they have learned their lesson and would renounce the course they were steering.

As to their claims we destroyed a ship that had stood down we can only surmise that they have over-indulged in their own narcotics. Their ship ignored many calls to do just that and instead adopted an offensive stance. It was not until after their war fleet provoked the Kokand into firing that the Floater vessel stood down, tragdically too late. Lasers and particles beams can not be recalled and the Floater's own action brought it down on them. After all, they forced us to fire on them with their deliberate provocations."

The Admiralty has also announced that the first wave of new construction has been completed. The next wave, which will include doubling the present battlecruiser and Capital ship counts will begin immediately. Gunboat production will also be increased. The first new capital vessel, the will be laid down in a ceremony early next week.

Top story today: Debate rages over the criminal and tratorous actions of former supreme admiral Jack O'neil at the Kokand ICDEX, some citizen, citing his preveous actions against the many pirates and terrorists that recently plaqued our space say he is still a hero of the KSE but the government states that he acted against instuctions and sparked a conflict that caused many unfortunate deaths. The sister ship of the Pride of Krytos, the Pride of Covelan is a focus of the debate. the emperor has urged for it to be scuttled and all data on the fusion cannon wiped in the interests of peace, however many in the senate belive the ship should be mothballed until a less-poten fusion cannon can be designed for it

are claiming that the Floater foces present at the Massacre did not stand down until after the Kokand vessels opened fire.

Kharamite officials responded as follows.

"We are shocked and bewildered at the willingness of the Asgard to broadcast propaganda which is blantantly falacious. Every party present, including neutrals like the New Roman Empire, who wish the Floaters no goodwill, agree that our weapons were powered down for almost a full half minute before Kokand vessels even opened fire. The Asgard Empire is either being fed false information by their Kokand "Allies," or are pursuing some sort of alternate agenda."

Great Cluster support for the Asgard Empire has reached a record low. Even the merchant cartels, who were interested in normalizing trade relationships, criticize the Asgard decision to forbid free trade with the Floater Republics.

The crew of the Red Dawn and the whole PIR navy feels honored.
Captain Fu will travel to Krytos immediately to accept this medal as representative of his crew.

Following the destruction of a pirate ship attacking the KSE transport ship 'Deliverance' on it's way to Kokand space, Captain Fu of the command ship Red Dawn is to be awarded a medal of commodation by the Emperor of the Krytos. Many hope that this gesture will help to ease the recent tensions between the KSE and the NBA members.
