Has anyone ever confronted Lucas about this issue?

I think there's a petition to put the ORIGINAL Star Wars trilogy (not the SE) on DVD.

Is it just me, or does "The Wong Cut" sound like the title of a bad Shaw Brothers movie?

I'd buy it, but I really wouldn't trust it. I mean, who knows what else Mike put on there other than Han shooting first, the way it was meant to be?

And, I'd like to know why they decided to make Greedo shoot first.

Aside from the never before released Han-Leia ass-fucking scene?

Nothing else.

As for the Greedo bit...maybe he got the Spielberg curse...maybe it was too violent to have Han shot without absolute provocation

Shit, if that's on the SE DVDs, I'd buy it!

I'd buy it too... Wong, I'd encourage you to start a new business with this, if it weren't illegal. ; p

Though there is a "Phantom Edit" floating around out there, and I swore I saw a "Phantom Menace: People's Edition" once... once...

Anyway, George Lucas will eventually buckle on the issue and announce he's re-editing the scene. The fans will rejoice! Then when the Super Special Archival Collector's Limited Edition Box Set DVD is released, we'll see that in fact Han only STUNS Greedo, and then feels sorry for him and pays for his dinner & drinks (by editing the line when he tosses money to the bartender as he leaves).

"People's edition"? What's that, where the heroes whine about capitalism even more than before? Where the Gungans overthrow their bourgeis Naboo overlords? Where the Nemoidians laugh evily about opressing the masses?

That's not the "People's Edition", that's the "Maoist's Edition."

They re-did the whole Oola dance sequence with some odd muppet thing flailing about as she sang.

That I could've done without.
