The Enclosure theme off Metal Gear Solid is a good theme for reflecting sadness too, I found a remix version with the Spanish Guitar in I think and the pipes which sounds just as good, but a little more uplifting.

The opening theme from Band of Brothers is pretty moving. Blue, Space Lion and Call Me, Call Me from Cowboy Bebop, too. Barber's Adagio for Strings... oh, and Nessun Dorma. The Sarah Brightman version, of course. Then there's the Dario battle music from Chrono Cross. Evergreen from Castlevania III. Those are just off the top of my head, mind you.
