Roman troops are not shielded and they are what I hit moron, and you Africa only shield wall was easy to fly around. You also never declared even a rough power level for your shields anyway.

[Sol System]

The Asgard fleet began to move as soon as the Floater's declaraction was recieved. The ponderous ships of the wall moved behind their screen. Already sensors swept the void ready to provide a stream of date to ready weapons.

Gunboats and fighters began swarming from Asgard holdings on Earth and Mars. All of them ready, loaded down with the most powerful and compact anti-matter weapons yet developed. They hurtled towards their targets. Soon they would be committed to their attacks and death would run free.

Over all Monacoran Military Channels the announcement came uot "Hostilities have BEgun, Commence IMmeadietly!!!"
Right after the order was recieved Monacoran Orbital Battle Stations opened fire, tearing apart Kokkand Ships. And Marine regiments, and Army regiments began landing/Advancing on the Kokkand Border, tearing apart the inferior Kokkand Troops like a KNife through melted Margerine. ONe Marine regiment went elsewhere though, it headed toa small instalation put up by the Skaven Empire.

After twenty Five minutes, and a total loss count of about two companies the facility was taken, and a truck was drvien in. Inside the wharehouse, through the transport structure there a heavy battle could be seen taking place. Lances of MOnacoran Marines were fighting a tough battle, but were holding back the unprepared Kokkand Troops. When the truck came in the Drivers came out, one carring a black box with an antenae on top. The Marines then began to retreat and after all were through, or dead, the technicians tore apart the wires and hardware on the Earth side. When the view of another planet faded nothing happened, on Earth.

On Mars a multi Kilo-Ton Explosion took place over the new Kokkand structures.

The dropships burned down through Earth's atmosphere like avenging angels. Their first pass was heralded by squadrons of aerospace assault craft, which released hundreds of thousands of cluster bombs. Each bomb popped quietly, releasing huge clouds of yellow fog. The igniters went off seconds later.

The firestorm would burn on for days.

The dropships hit the ground, braked by scramjets. They disgorged their passengers, over two million heavily armed and equipped Floater ground troops.

The dreadnoughts in orbit opened fire seconds later. All a floater soldier had to do was point, and the orbiting guns would release hypervelocity rounds at any target. The dreadnoughts sat in orbit, unpunishable, weapons blazing as they destroyed concentrations of Kokander soldiers.

The Roman Troops are behind my Shields, and shields are posted with every unit I deploy, as stated in my ORBAT. How are you going to fly around the shields when I have a straight line of forces in the Middle East and in Africa.

The Lupus fleet in LEO acted quickly. Several thousand tactical nuclear warheads streaked from their bays, targeting specific Kokand installations in Africa.

The overwhelming volleys unleashed by the Lupi quicky overran Kokand point-defense, crippling military installations and shattering troop formations. Shielded batteries activated themselves along all Imperial holdings; no more enemy volleys would strike Earth's surface.

Praetorian divisions in Graecia and Italia mobilized as regular legions were rushed to the front to replace the soldiers lost in the Ionian coast. Another volley from the Lupi broke military installations in Arabia; fifteen regular and REL legions spearheaded the invasion in enviromentally-regulated NBC suits, proceeded by an extensive orbital sweep of the entire area, leaving almost no defensible installation standing.

Naval elements in the Mediterrenean quickly launchd waves of fighters that hammered Kokand posistions mercilessly.

The Astralegios I formed up on the far side of Earth, awaiting any impending attack.

BTW, to make this clear:

there are three Floater task forces, with attending clusters, at Zarathrustra right now, and another task force over Earth- both are close enough to eachother, with Zarathrustra at Earth's L5 point.

The First Fleet of the Joint Republican Navy, headed by our best admiral, is 3 aU above the ecliptic, paralell with Mars.

There are two more task forces out in the Oort cloud.

Everyone else should post what they have in-system, just so we can all know what is going on.

The Floater dreadnoughts were stunned as the Asgard gunboats and fighters were suddenly amongst them. Anti-matter warheads detonated against the Floaters ships, blotting out weapons installations and tearing open the hulls. They were paying dearly for their complaceny. The small craft were carving the cap ships to peices.

Lancers were caught off-guard by the more manueverable Asgard fighters. They were slaughtered with out mercy.

The Skaven task force assigned to Earth rushed back from the wrong side of the planet to counter the Floater threat. A score of Chaperon-class ships and two Cataphracts formed the core of the attack force, backed by thousands of small craft, all of the latest upgrade. The hung back behind the planet, screened by their fighters and the remaining four Chaperons.

"Approaching target - now"

The task force fired a volley of missiles, as much as a distraction as anything esle. All continued accelerating full thrust towards the Floater force.

The Agard commander's foolishness cost him dearly. His fighter squadrons met the defending fighters and Strike Cruiser escorts which stood around the Dreadnoughts. Lancer gunships, armed with dozens of high-speed tracking antifighter turrets, tore through the Asgard fighter strike, supported by the swarms of fighters the Dreadnought's attending Attack Carriers launched.

Admiral Traendly was having a Field Day. The Battle-Stations had been mostly ignored up until now, and now they were showing their full power.

"Asgard Ships, all Ports, Skaven Second." He shouted over the comm system, and then switched to individual ring command. The Asgard targets were torn apart, and Skaven ships were brushed as the guns which could find no Asgard ships to fire against hit them.

Damage was light so far, the Second ring shield had only taken 12% damage, and the fourth ring only half that. But as they had just made their pressence clear they were in for a deep battle now.

The Kokand Starfleet, steady massing outside of the Sol system came into the fight. Fifteen Black Forests, sixty cruisers, eight fleet carriers half with fighters and half with missiles arrived along with a hundred frigates. They stood off at long range blasting the stationary battlestations with partial beam cannons. The Very heavy cannons of the Black Forests where devastating, every sixty gun salvo destroyed at least one station.

The fighter's recently installed sheilding held on all but a few unlikely fighters. Their upgraded sheilding paying off. It was being sorely tested though amidst the hail of fire.

A cheer went up as a Floater Dreadnought break up under the pounding of fighter missles. Squadrons broke off and headed back for Earth, few Floater ships escaping damage.

It is possible, POSSIBLE, you might get to the Dreadnought in NEO.

The ones up at Zarathrustra, guarded by tens of thousands of lancers and fighters? most of which are shielded? and over 30 Strike Cruisers?

Having not fully engaged the Floaters, most of the Skaven betteries were free to fire upon orbital defenses. Autocannons overwhelmed defenses with totals of hundreds of warheads fired each second. Laser crews concentrated their efforts, bathing satellites in impossibly dense fire. Shields buckled under the strain and outgoing missile fire was destroeyed the moment it left the launch tubes.
Bombers received authorization to fire missiles. Scores lanced out at individual targets.

Nonetheless, there was damage. A lucky flank hit crippled a Chaperon, which was quickly set upon and destroyed.

Others destroyed antennas, sensors, a few guns, or simply scored the armor.

Reports of damaged ships streamed into the command superdreadnought. The Monarocan ships had opened fire. Most of the fire had splattered harmlessly against wedge and 'wall. Decoys vanished by the score as ships wasted their fire against electronic phantoms.

It was not without losses though. Several cruisers were shatter by incoming fire but most shrugged it off.

The Asgard's return salvo of missles split the night. X-ray lasers pincushioned the Monarocan forces. A comprehensive analysis was hard but there were several impressive secondary explosions.

The Skaven and Asgard missile salvoes hurtled toward the Floater fleet and the Earth- either would be disastrious for allied forces.

Shortly before they struck, a volley of warheads erupted from the Astralegios I, entering the midst of the enemy swarm shortly outside of point-defense range. It was not as great in volume as the swarm, but it did not need to be.

For these were not interceptors; they detonated in low-yield energy pulses, wiping out enormous chunks of the barrages. A thousand missiles were destroyed for every ten of the pulse bombs; fighters, too, were crippled or washed away by these explosive blasts.

The enemy fleets were now denied this option. Any missile barrage was met with a similar barrage of pulse bombs that utterly eradicated the attack.

On Earth, the Lupi had now destroyed all of Kokand's military installations. Taking advantage of the cover offered by the activated batteries, they began to pummel orbiting forces.

Missile launchers, bloated and new, moved into position on the vessels of the First Fleet, three AU's above the Ecliptic.

"Since the end of the Emancipation war, and the destruction of the Roman fleet by missile barrage, the Free Floater republics, in concert with Durandel's Empire, have been looking for a way to solve the missile problem. Massed missile barrages seemed to be the method of acheivieing space dominance."

The firing paths were plotted. The weapons would fire only milliseconds later.

"Seemed. That is no longer the case. We present to Known Space, the new age of warfare, that which will change the way battles are fought."

"Tactical, the Fleet has my clearance. Open Fire."

The projectiles were simple- A warp drive, shuttle scale, and a single use power supply, backed by a short-burn torchdrive. Attached to the nose of the weapon, a high-yield nuke, larger than those used on the agile, smaller missiles which until this moment had dominated space combat. The missile's simple sensor package would set the torpedo off the second it came close to it's target.

It moved at 200c, far faster than any antimissile weapon in use could track.

The ships of the First Fleet launched their first volley as on, setting their rounds to explode a considerable distance from the Asgard and Kokand fleets. The blasts would clear any drones from the area around the enemy ships. The second barrage arrived a few milliseconds later, missiles dropping out of warp, then exploding against their target's shields, in massive blasts. The eight Dreadnoughts of the First Fleet each mounted eighteen launchers, the Strike Cruisers each mounted six.

No vessels in space could withstand the blasts. The missiles could not be shot down, and though some were fooled by decoys , the vast majority arrived on target.

Within eight seconds of giving the order to fire, every vessel in the Asgard and Kokand fleets had taken several hits. Four Black Forests burned, hulled repeatedly. Three escort carriers listed. scores of escorts had already exploded.

"Reload launchers, fire volley two."

The next volley would be redy to fire in under twenty seconds.

The New Roman Empire targetted only military installations; however, once the war has been completed we will pay fully half of the reparations.

Not a single one of the FTL missiles touched the Kokand force. Its interdictors had been active since the moment the last ship had arrived in system, and the fat lumbering missiles where easy targets for the point defenses. Many Asgard ships where also protected by the wide ranging field.

The Krytos Star Navy's Task force omega droped out of hyperspace in the SOL system Admiral Connor paced the bridge. "Captain, contact the floaters and ask where our forces are needed most and send the message back to Krytos that task force alpha can move at any time"

As you can see, people of the North American Union, the NRE targetted SPECIFIC KOKAND INSTALLATIONS. There have been no general bombardments of North Africa. Floater dropships have used aerosol napalm to clear landing areas, but besides that, all orbital fire we have deployed has been against Kokand forces in Africa.
