Stormbringer wrote:"Damnit!" the Asgard Admiral cursed. They had their answer.

The Asgard ship had effectively capped the T of the Krytos fleet. Their massive broadsides opened up. They targeted the Krytos fleet exclusively, the massive beams striking the sheilding. They wouldn't last long."

"Return fire and activate PDL's"

"Contact the Asgard Fleet, find out why the hell they opened fire just after we stood down"

The KSN fleet began to return fire against the Asgard, hammering their formations with heavy weapons fire.

The Cluster of Zarathrustra is invoking the Peace of the Void. This is neutral territory, and we will offer assistance to all damaged vessels in the area. All vessels are to stand down!

"All ships, concentrate on the Krytos. Be damn careful of that Cluster!"

The Admiral barked orders and tried to raise the Kokand commanders. It was chaos as the Floater fleets stood down and their allies continued firing.

"All sides. Cease firing for fuck's sake!!!" He screamed over the comms

As combat slowed to a halt in the area around Earth, the battle hundreds of thousands of kilometers away, above the ecliptic, heated up.

"This is Vice Admiral Jefferies- DeFranco's dead! We have two Dreadnoughts left, the Kokands refuse to cease fire! If we deactivate our defenses, we'll all die! We can hold them off for another few minutes longer, please, send help- "

The Monacorans have no spacecraft in the area, and the fighting on the ground has stopped.

Hegemony vessels are en route to assist the Floater First Fleet, which is still under fire.

Over Seer Vosszar stood over the smoking remains of the former fleet admiral. {That settles that. Communications, ready a general broadcast.}

"Attention all belligerent powers. This is the commander of all Skaven forces in the system. This war is meaningless. We are ending it.

Secondly, members of the New Beijing Alliance, we have reason to believe that spies from our supposed allies the Kokand have infiltrated you. We suggest purging your forces immediately."

The Asgard Empire will be working out a deal with the Kokand Empire. We ask that no nations take hasty actions until that time.

The Seraphim-class Dreadnought "Lover's Kiss" shook. The vessel was locked in a face-to-face battle with one of the more heavily damaged Black Forests.

"Command! Our ECM systems are failing, the Kokanders will have a lock soon!"

"Damage reports in sector twelve, AM cannons four and five are offline!"

"Direct hit! The Black Forest is venting atmosphere, their central gun deck is burning!"

"AM cannon three is charged, firing- Direct hit! Enemy engine systems destroyed."

"Communications! Hail those fuckers in the Black Forest, tell them to stand down! tell them this war is over!"

The Kokand are not stopping their assault against the floaters. We cannot sit idly by and let our allies be slaughtered. We request permission to assist the beseiged floater vessels.

The embattles Kokand fleet had lost much of it's coherense. No one was sure who was in command and most ships had at least some degree of damage.

"Floaters. We accept the cease fire."

The violence stopped so suddenly, so completely, that it was as if it had never been. The command to standdown, freecast across the Floater fleet, was responded to almost instantly.

The first of the civilian craft lept from Zarathrustra, and began sweeping the debris fields for survivors.

Larger vessels came next, repair craft, OAVs loaded with medical personelle instead of soldiers.

(BTW stormbringer, I was hitting your fleet with all my heavy weapons. How come you no take casualties?)

don't worry about it- the huge amount of ECM my ships were projecting was playing hell with everyone's combat sensors. You may have scored no hits whatsoever, and it may explain some odd, conflicting reports found in this engagement :)

I was mostly posting on the fly. But my ships are essentially only vulnerable to energy weapons when they have wedges and walls up.

what effect would a fractional-c kinetic projectile have on sidewalls?

Just curious, of course..

My ships use mostly energy weapons

EDIT: a few mass drivers here and there, but mostly nutron guns or particle beams

I'll handle this OOC

I am also curious. What effect would a corvette-sized combatant ramming it high speeds have?
