Vice Admiral Jefferies looked around. His command deck was oddly pristine- no damage had been done to his part of the the ship. It looked as clean and new as the day it had been commissioned, besides the occaisional ball of sweat which floated across the room.
Bondman Admiral DeFranco's body, along with those of a thousand Floaters, was in the twisted remains of the "Lionheart," twenty kliks away. The "Lover's Kiss" itself was heavily damaged- she had been hit twice, though only by glancing blows, from the Black Forest's guns. The Black Forest was a mere thousand kilometers away, a shattered hulk with only a few signs of life left. Seconds before the stand down order had arrived, "Lover's Kiss" had scored a direct hit with her fore mass driver. The round had broken the Black Forest in two.
Admiral DeFranco looked around the compartment one more time. He could see the dozens of shattered hulks hanging in space around him, on the tactical display. Only Three Black Forests remained, and a scant dozen Kokand cruisers. Five Kokand escort carriers remained, all badly damaged, and three frigates. The First Fleet had taken huge casualties, with the "Lover's Kiss' being the last of eight dreadnoughts left. Only eight of the seventy Strike Cruisers remained intact, though at least sixm mroe were salvagable. Three gunships stood strangely untouched- He supposed the Kokand guns had ignored the small antifighter ships. Seven attack carriers remained of the original seventeen, but only one of them would be operational without extensive repair work.
Bondman Vice Admiral Jefferies couldn't believe he was still alive.

The SAR shuttles flew back and forth across the Sol system. So many ships had been lost, it would be a long while before all the wrecks had been searched. Most of the Asgard ships had been destroyed with all hands. Only a bare handful had made it out of them. The Kokand had faired better. They had lost far fewer.
Salvage operations would be commencing. The Crusaders, the only Asgard ships lost, would be written off. They weren't worth the money to repair them. Eight of the Black Forests, thirty two cruisers, and roughly 4 dozen frigates were in salavagable condition. They would require a lot of work but they were repairable. The carreirs were all crippled but could be returned to service shortly.

A mass of jumpgates form in the midst of the sea of shattered hulls. A fleet of 220 captal ships arrives moments to late to contribute to thhe battle(OOC not at computer all day)
"This is Admiral Jonaleth Nazaren of the DE. What in the nine hells happened here? Floater republics, should we launch an asault on the Kokand Empire, or is this battle over?"

The battle had been fierce, but now, rescue craft, along with two more task forces of Floater warships, arrived from the Sol system's Oort cloud.
Hundreds of salvage craft spread through the wreckage, pulling bodies from twisted hulks. The carnage was at it's worst above the ecliptic- the Kokand vessels had been badly torn apart by the AM blasts. Many had only a few dozen survivors out of the original thousands.
The Floater vessels in the area had fared a little better, in that respect- The compartmentalized construction of Floater vessels meant that even a ship blown to peices could have a few sealed compartments left safe.
Damage to the Cluster itself was minimal. Zarathrustrans would party for weeks to come.
In low Earth orbit, the hulk of the Dreadnought was pulled back towards the Military cluster by civilian tugs. Five more Strike Cruisers were pulled back to repair slips for reconstruction. The dropships began to ferry Floater soldiers back up into orbit. Casualties had been minimal- With the full weight of the Monacoran and Roman armies assisting them, the ground action had been textbook, and quite victorious.
Bondman Executive Jeffery Il Jong would be making his speech later that day.
It was apparent he would be proposing a non-aggression pact between all parties involved.

We are only to glad that this issue has been settled, as I think it would be rather difficult for you to destroy this fleet. Especially because the guns on our vessels are currently targeting all of your ships in the area. We will power down weapons ONLY on request of the Floaters.Stormbringer wrote:To: All DE Forces

Tractor beams from the DE ships(advanced gravitic tech) lock on to large chunks of debris that have already been checked for survivors, and compress them into slightly smaller hulks and smashes them together to later be hurled nto the sun.

The Asgard and Kokand wrecks our own property. Please leave them alone. They are our property and we would object strongly to others tampering with them. Is that acceptable?
And to the Durndal's Empire contingent, please, stop threatening the fragile peace. The Asgard would like to volunteer to host peace negotiations.

A small gathering of Minmatar salvage freighters emerged into real space.Thirdfain wrote:We of the Free Floater Republics would like to ask the assistance of the ITA in cleaning up this mess. We will put this act before the ITA:

"Deploy the drones."
Within minutes, hundreds of scavenger drones were busy scouring the battlefield, carefully latching on to the debris and taking it off.
Would all parties like their hulks intact or broken down into manageable parts before being returned?
Also, the Minmatar would like to hold peace talks on our Gemini colony in the Khaydrin system, incase their are any final issues that anyone needs to get off their chest. The talks are open to ITA and non-ITA alike.

--Fenris--
Singer of the Packs looked about.
Due to her internal intellegence forces backed by her manufacturing supremacy, and kept afloat by her connections with the ITA, she had won the conflict already with less bloodshed then any other Fenari war before. There was no way the Junta could attack, they couldn't afford to. She watched as the fool launched his volley at her forces, when the prototype jammers on his flag ship, activated, not in the way he had intended, they had turned his ship into a bright beacon, every warhead was streaking twords his flagship, as a Two Thirds of his own force turned traitor.
Fool, they thought power still flowed from the barrel, her predicessor had made that mistake, The Singer had struggled to Alpha by realizing War was only a means to obtain materials, there were much more efficiant ways of going about it. We now own the holdings of those packs that supported the Junta as well, unable to pay off the loans they had bargoned with the Intellegance branch, they had lost everything. Now the intellegence directorate had the enirity of the Fenari Manufacturing and shipping at it's disposal. Fenris and Demonhiem together represented the most extensive military and civilian refining and manufacturing base. All it needed was the Technology of the humans, but still given "molds" and some simple works it could out produce (albiet in lesser quality) any single power.
Public Proclamation:

<The Sector packs are in disunity, weakened by internal war, While the Fenari had been fighting with it's self all other's had petitioned it to take sides. Only the Minmarter had shown the foresight to preserve the resources and not get caught in the fray, and shown true qualities, of pack leader.
The Fenari would like to issue a move that of the ITA "Betas" that the Minamarter be made "Alpha" for the good of the ITA Pack and for the good of the Individuals within the Pack.

"Wow," was all that King Dagnar could say on viewing the reports of the Second Battle of Sol. He sucked in his breath. "We live in dangerous times."
Emma Johnson, Chief Military Advisor, fingered a datapad. "Should I take that as an authorization, sir?"
"Yes, I want us to design a new carrier group. A better group, with more capital ship muscle, and new technologies. We have to find a way to deal with the massive salvoes used by the Kokand and the defenses of the Asgard, not to mention the prodigious point defense they all had."
Ms. Johnson nodded. "I can have our formal recommendations here within a month. As for the four groups leased out..."
"Recall them and issue our thanks. We can't afford to be at less than full strength with all this intrigue."
The doors to the King's office opened without so much as a warning. A black-clad figure strode quickly into the room, a metal cylinder in his hand. By the time the King noticed the bodies of his personal guard outside, it was already to late. A snap-hiss sound reverberated as the king's head was cleanly severed from his shoulders.
The Jedi Arthur Tuxedo rudely shoved the former King's body aside and took a seat in his chair, propping his feet up on the desk. He had already secured the personal trust of the twelve admirals and gained the support of the military establishment. Ms. Johnson, quite unsurprised, handed the datapad to Arthur with a smile. "I assume this is to your satisfaction, my new king?"
"Please, call me Emperor."

The message took a few moments for the recipients to fully comprehend, not so much in the translation from the Fenari mindset into a more human train of thought but in the suddenness of their proposition. However, the more the Minmatar representative thought about it the more it made sense. A Chancellor would solve virtually all the ITA's organizational problems. The ITA would have a voice that could unite it so that it could act as a coherrant entity. With proper organisation the ITA could guarantee even greater protection to its trade lanes and even interact with external bodies, establishing trade routes virtually anywhere in the sector. The Yosemite Bear wrote:Public Proclamation:

"We are greatly honored by your nomination." The Minmatar representative, Artimus Vreize, bowed to the Fenari. "If this is the what the council wishes, then I will accept this responsibility on behalf of the Minmatar. When we first proposed the creation of the ITA with the idea that we could help preserve the ideals of free trade we had little idea of exactly how large our trade alliance would grow. 16 nations together, joined by the common goal, that goal simply being better lives for our citizens. Since becoming members of the ITA, nations have experienced economic growth the likes of which mankind has never seen before. The 16 member nations of the ITA have hung on through good times such as the recent economic booms, and through bad times such as the recent wars that divided us, but in the end our total commitment to Free Trade has has proven solid even in the face of total war. This is the bond between our peoples that I, on behalf of the Minmatar, have been fighting tooth and nail to ensure that they are never broken. If the council choses to officially place the responsibility of preserving the economic well being of the ITA on myself then I will do everything possible to ensure the economic well being of all ITA member nations for as long as it should be required of me. Together we will preserve the trade lanes, we will seek out new opportunities for the way we do business, we will explore new economic initiatives with the other powers and together we will ensure our continued prosperity for all time.
I leave this decision to the ITA representatives. Know that I will do whatever the council requires of me, the decision remains yours."

Again, the PIR fleet had not seen battle. The ships were few and widely dispersed throughout the galaxy. When they arrived, the battle had already been won.

Council Meeting, Zarathrustra.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, esteemed colleagues-"
"We come here to discuss the war which erupted around our beloved home, on and above Earth."
"We have examined the results of the battle. In the course of combat, more than half of the Kokand wall of battle was damaged or destroyed."
"Our own First Fleet, over a quarter of our total power, has been mauled heavily. More than half our ships are destroyed beyond recognition."
"Our wall of battle has lost seven Dreadnoughts- Two Lion class, four Seraphim class, and one of our Zarathrustran Ebon Blades."
" We have lost over twenty-five Strike Cruisers, two task forces worth, in the course of battle. Seven gunships were also destroyed."
"Finally, we have lost eight capital ships. Two Night Queen attack carriers, three Gryphon attack carriers, and Xanadu Militia carriers."
"Our military clusters were never attacked. Our repair and building slips are all fully operational. As I speak, the Womb is completing work on the five "Republic" class Dreadnoughts. It will be ten months before the next ten Dreadnoughts are completed."
"Remains of our destroyed vessels will be shipped to the Womb, and used to facilitate faster completion of the fifteen Strike Cruisers we have under construction. Those vessels will be ready in a month. Another twenty-five should be completed at the same time as out second wave of Republic-class Dreadnoughts."
“Our new-model craft will mount regular missile launchers, though they will be modifiable to carry FTL rounds, should such devices appear feasible again. Laser warheads will soon be standard issue to all Floater vessels, our munitions factories will begin construction at once.”
“Excellent work, Vice Admiral. What is your assessment of the battle? Could we have won?”
“Without a doubt, bondwoman councilor. Mensa-Dorian vessels could have finished off the Kokand fleet, and the newly arrived Krytosian and Durandel Imperial fleets would have given us the firepower to control the system. It is undoubtable that the Asgard could have inflicted terrific harm against Zarathrustra herself, but our defensive clusters and fleets, along with the Krytosian fleet, had the Asgard surrounded. They would have succumbed, after inflicting heavy casualties to the civilian populace.”
“The only question is, Councilors, can we count this a true victory? Have our objectives been achieved?”
“I believe it has, Vice Admiral. The Kokand fleet is broken, their holdings on Earth are overrun, and their holdings on Mars were heavily damaged. Their treachery against the New Beijing Alliance, and against us, has been revealed. Their power is broken, and our intelligence suggests that the Asgard will become the leading force in the NBA, though the PIR may also achieve ascendance. In addition, the flooding of the market with Fenari copies of Kokand goods, combined with the Kokand fear of free trade, is leading to a general recession in Kokand space. Their unstable economy is tanking. Meanwhile, while Zarathrustran stocks have taken heavy hits, our free market remains resilient. During the war, Mohaimese and Xanadar stocks actually increased a little.”
“The Kokand have paid heavily for their crimes. We may consider their debt to us absolved, Executive.”
“In that case, I will submit a request for a non-aggression pact, and a resumption of free trade, to the New Beijing Alliance. We can return to the business of making ourselves, and our people, rich and happy.”

The KSN Task Force Alpha reverted to realspace just outside of earth orbit and began moving in on the debris field with weapons powerd down and shields lowered
"Admiral jarraed, the fighting appears to be over now."
"I can see that captain, launch rescue ships to assist the other rescue crews, if we can save any lives today then we're going to do it."
"Yes sir. I have contacted the Kokand and the Asgard, they know we are here to assist with rescue and salvag operations."
Several dozen shuttles launched from the bays of the KSN battlegroup and headed for the debris field, trying to save any survivors from the burned out hulks of military vessels
